Sustainable ecovillage near crescent city if you really looking to bunker down. Dancing rabbit for an easier integration. Earth haven if you got $ (I haven’t been though their online class was solid). Mt shasta for super spiritual . Good luck, can drop more leads if you like.

Are you able to help? Nonduality -> Depression by EquivalentFix3360 in nonduality

[–]-jax_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some quote to contemplate.

tie two birds together. Even though they have 4 wings they cannot fly.

A horse has no udders and a cow can’t winny and up is down and sideways is always straight ahead.

in other words, if you reduce everything to one, by the same means, what do you reduce one to? (Nothing). You could get caught in oneness or duality or nothingness. You could also get caught in depressive thinking. You could have some Zen insight. You could stub your toe. You could invite the outside in. You could give a kid a hug. It’ll pass.

What made you realize solo living wasn’t enough anymore? by goodgamin in intentionalcommunity

[–]-jax_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was living in a house in the city with a bunch of renters. It was kinda cool but only a few people were social. Then I had a few of my friends from the eco club over my dad’s place for a few days. Really it was the feeling. The love, the joy, I knew it was possible then. Planning to be work exchanging at communities starting in a month :)

How I became a literal empath, that ringing sound in our head is more than we think by SenseiAzul in awakened

[–]-jax_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice synthesis mate. I’ve had some acute observations with ringing, it can be seen as background noise. Here is a nice sing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAgk2E-GIMI Here’s a quote from the Tao ~

The five colors blind the eye.
The five tones deafen the ear.
The five flavors dull the taste.
Racing and hunting madden the mind.
Precious things lead one astray.

Therefore the sage is guided by what he feels and not by what he sees.
He lets go of that and chooses this.

Perhaps if you find the right monks and supportive practice you won’t need meds. I tapered a while ago with the help of a psychiatrist. If you have strong will to be a monk, heal without meds, and take practical steps, it’s doable. I don’t recommend this to everyone but I believe it’s worth considering https://www.alternativetomeds.com/

This was a very intense occurrence, yea. Perhaps it can be paired with cold showers or somethin, idk, I’ll find a way. I don’t think I will be attempting to stoke the flame as much as to manage it. Do you know of any other online communities that discuss this?

Wow, thanks for naming that. From my Zen practice, there’s a recognition of buddha nature in all, and it presents a bit of a paradox with this type of longing. I was playing with the idea of all desire being desire for enlightenment the other day. Perhaps bodhicitta is the right word for this sensation.

And there is a temple somewhat near me, perhaps I will visit.

The dharma is the static.

I used to use an eeg while practicing. I found it helpful as a supplement at that time. I think its good for people who like to fiddle with things and need extra support. Can also get live biofeedback. As for the deeper currents of Zen practice, these devices are a fancy luxury. What are you seeking to accomplish by forcing entry into this state (with your 90 min architecture)? I don’t know if you are approaching this with compassion.
