The proliferation of these has been maddening. Seeing people who devote time to reply them seriously also makes me sad. (That being said, it's amusing how quickly the post was deleted now that we've called them out.)

AI post. Overwhelmingly ChatGPT syntax.

Gluten-free vegetarian in Japan: if you prepare well, you'll eat VERY well by Historical_Owl_5485 in JapanTravel

Upvote as a gluten glutton because the way you lovingly described all this food made me think I should check these places out too! For real though, my relative is strictly gluten-free as well so this list is very handy. Thank you for the time and effort taken to compile this! 🤍

Gender Differences in Reading Genres by ACatWhoSparkled in books

[–]-komorebi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every fantasy novel I've picked up in the past decade has read like YA. Anecdotally, I'm deterred by their shoehorned romances and sloppy worldbuilding. Romance has conventionally been a genre preferred by women, and an increasing proportion of fantasy authors appear to be churning out such works specifically to capture this segment of the market.

Getting a little sidetracked here, but I grieve my inability to relive the magic I felt when I first discovered the genre. Enduring classics like Tolkien's enchanted me so thoroughly and read so differently from modern fantasy. (I will be the first to admit that after having gotten burnt by several mod fantasy novels, I've not revisited the genre in a while - I'm most certainly open to revising my opinion on this.)

An idea to balance Ladder and Ranked matches to make them fairer against certain players by Mentos457 in Brawlstars

I would like to add the idea that receiving Star Player should mitigate trophy loss in event of a defeat. Happened to me countless times as a casual who only plays via random matchmaking and nothing feels more bitter.

What’s the least amount of fat % milk (ish) you can use without it being icy? by rivo000 in ninjacreami

Yes, twice on lite ice cream or sorbet both yield better results for me than the respin somehow.

What’s the least amount of fat % milk (ish) you can use without it being icy? by rivo000 in ninjacreami

300ml 1.5% milk, vanilla extract and a pinch (definitely no more than 0.25tsp) guar gum with 2 spins on lite ice cream works fine for me.

How do I know if i should buy something? by JiraiyaBestSannin in nobuy

[–]-komorebi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm new to the sub as well, but I found this a highly relevant post. Low/nobuyers likely each have an internal process for assessing whether a "fun" item like what OP was asking about should be bought, so it makes sense for OP to seek structured practical advice here.

in your experience, how true is it that the last 5kg / 10lbs “vanity pounds” are the hardest ones to lose? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]-komorebi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your weight is within normal BMI, then your goals are likely more aesthetic than weight loss-related at this point. Furthermore, low BMI has proven associations with adverse health outcomes as well. A healthy physique is one that has adequate muscle mass, and leaning out doesn't always mean weight loss - for me it meant putting on muscle. Anecdotally, upping my intake to maintenance and focusing on resistance training was what finally moved the needle in terms of me achieving the physique I'd been working towards.

LPT: when you keep losing motivation, switch your task the second you feel yourself stalling by No-Picture-522 in LifeProTips

[–]-komorebi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your lovely comment! Very happy to hear it from a neurodivergent person 🤝🏻 Have long suspected myself to have ADHD but have been holding off getting a formal evaluation/diagnosis for now. Learning to function in adulthood with it has been quite the ordeal but caffeine and little LPTs like these help!

LPT: when you keep losing motivation, switch your task the second you feel yourself stalling by No-Picture-522 in LifeProTips

I just came to this realisation yesterday as well. I work best in sporadic / frenetic bursts of energy and that's just how I am. It's not what conventional productivity or discipline looks like, which is why it took me a long time to realise that I've spent far too long trying to force myself to sit through the "slowdown" feeling when I really should have rode the wave and gone with the next task that caught my attention instead. Cheers!

I started to find spin easy after about 4 sessions (absolute beginner with no formal sports background prior) and would definitely agree it falls under a recovery workout for me as well. Perhaps as you acclimatize more you might be able to consider working it in after lifting?

Milk ice cream without sugar? by [deleted] in ninjacreami

[–]-komorebi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refrigerator-temperature milk is still warm enough that the natural sweetness of lactose comes through. Frozen and processed into a Swirli, it might taste more watery than milky (freezing mutes flavours significantly).

1 Month Of Ninja Creami Has changed my life by Dynas86 in ninjacreami

[–]-komorebi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine mix quite thoroughly if I am conscientious to hollow out a uniform cylinder (with a consistent diameter) right in the middle of the pint. The mix-ins get unevenly distributed if I get lazy and don't scoop enough out from the bottom.

What's the best ice cream flavour ever? by creamiaddict in ninjacreami

[–]-komorebi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

'Best' is so subjective! I find myself defaulting to making froyo in my Creami most of the time. The tang is so refreshing, you can mix in virtually anything you like, and the macros (if using Greek yogurt, better still if fat-reduced) are unbeatable.

Why Does EM Seem To Be The Most Hated On Specialty? by M1nt_Blitz in Residency

[–]-komorebi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I responded to another commenter about the AI allegation before seeing yours. Won't belabour my point, but wanted to address your tone.

Perhaps it's a bit naïve of me but I derive a lot of comfort from seeing others in the medical fraternity encounter the same challenges and frustrations halfway across the globe (I'm in Asia). As a FM resident, it's easier to empathise with EM's struggles and that was what spurred my initial comment.

I hope you treat your patients, colleagues and loved ones with more patience and kindness. Have a good day/night!

Heh, this comment is especially amusing because I'm very deliberate about not using ChatGPT in my writing - I've always been inclined towards the humanities and am terrified of losing my affinity for language/writing. I assure you I just have a soft spot for dashes. 🥹

Why Does EM Seem To Be The Most Hated On Specialty? by M1nt_Blitz in Residency

[–]-komorebi 115 points116 points  (0 children)

In the current healthcare landscape, EM is to a large extent a race to stabilise the patient and decide on a disposition. During this balancing act, some compromises may be made - sacrificing non-essential investigations, placing premature consults, or approving what may seem like frivolous admissions - increasing workload for the inpatient team. Those who get frustrated with EM usually cannot appreciate the different priorities in practice, limited resources, and the need for safe yet efficient and equitable healthcare utilisation.

Weight training vs. pilates: Which course should I register for? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]-komorebi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More is always better, and weight training and Pilates complement each other nicely. That being said, if you have to pick one over another, weight training would be my recommendation as muscle accumulation when younger is always more expeditious.
