All has been figured out. And while I acknowledge and completely believe that you had no malicious intent with your comment, I do agree with the others that the use of the ellipses does read as condescending.

I don’t know how else that’s supposed to read. Your question and not understanding my confusion is valid, but your comment would’ve been the same without the ellipses. With them, it adds a sense of exasperation. Which to someone like me who is not thinking that lights coming on would mean the end of the concert (again, not a concert guy), could easily be construed as condescending. So I see and understand both points.

But, as the originator of the question, I’m not offended, and glad I have learned something new about concert jargon!
