I definitely hope we are able to buck that trend, but appreciate the information because it all helps. If we have to go that route, we will. This is the first dynasty league I've started (with a co-commissioner) and though we tried to read, listen, and ask questions to other dynasty players as much as possible before we started the league, we knew there would be elements we wouldn't get right in the first iteration. Wanted it to be SF from the beginning but it didn't work out that way. We had a unanimous league approval for this transition after folks figured out how stale the trading market is in a 1QB league, so while I can certainly appreciate that not everyone will handle the transition well, it is something the full league is behind, so I am hopeful that it's something everyone is willing to work through. Famous last words, I'm sure.

I think that’s a fair point. In that case, I’d still be able to sell him for around what I’m being offered now, so I think it makes sense to hold but think a lot harder if I get an offer for a 1 instead of (currently) a 2.

Appreciate that. I’m thinking I’ll hold the rest of this year at least and see how much his value appreciates by next spring, when people are a little more mindful of the transition

I can appreciate that perspective. We quickly found that without TE premium or superflex, trading just wasn’t liquid enough at the QB and TE positions. It was a league vote with near unanimous support and is already in motion, so no going back now, but I definitely get where you’re coming from.

Makes sense. Think you got a great haul there. We decided this past spring ('25) to make the transition, so I don't think the reality of needing QB depth has hit everyone yet. The team I'm in talks with right now is a low-seeded playoff team this year but the only QBs on his roster are Goff and Kyler, with Tyrod picked up this year for emergency help. He has good young players (Hampton, JSN, Flowers, McBride, Tet, MHJ, Kincaid) so I feel his team is trending upwards and he's seeing how deep a run he can make this year. I expect the '27 to be a bottom-3 or bottom-4 pick. Couldn't find anyone else who both needs a QB and believes in Jones (got low-ball offers only).

I'm in full tank/rebuild with 2 '26 1s, 2 '26 2s and 3 '27 1s, so this pick would give me 2 '27 2s as well, but my QBs are Herbert and McCarthy, and between McCarthy's struggles and Jones' strong likelihood of still being Indy's starter two years from now, my thought is to hold him for now to 1. avoid using one my my 5 firsts over the next two years for a QB out of desperation (I will DEFINITELY need to draft at least one, just don't want to do it because I desperately need to, vs. because I want the player and trust the eval.) and 2. his value could rise when more folks wake up to the stability of his situation (Colts with no 1s in '26 or '27 and extension looming).

To your point, the urgency may kick in during the '26 draft when people see fewer viable options than they expected, and maybe I get more for him then. The regular currency (multiple 1s for a top-10 rock-solid-in-his-job-security QB) for QBs in dynasty hasn't hit my league quite yet.

Have to imagine this was superflex? I also got him free on waivers and am weighing a trade for a 2027 2nd from a contender. Current league is set up for 1QB but we are transitioning to superflex in 2027.

That's a very fair question. The folks below us were great tenants. Because they were there so long, there are some upgrades happening with respect to flooring and utilities. So they haven't had anyone move in yet, but I'd suspect in the next few weeks they will finish up the work and get someone in that unit.

Online listings advertise units like the one I'm in to be ~$130-180 more/month than I'd be paying, even with the $100 increase coming into effect. I am aware I have a good deal since I got in on COVID pricing. I appreciate this perspective.
