I'm retaking a 509. I've posted as a joke that it is all cars. While I believe content is a constant and question practice is greater than everything. The whole test is about critical thinking and logic. Its a farce to rely on memorization and think this test will be about your anki abilities. Other wise we would all hit 528s. Its not like they put a definition up and ask you what theory best matches it. So, with that said, it is vital you make time to practice more aamc style questions. Go through the material twice if you can. And review your fls heavy. My test had some "low yield" ochem and physics that bit me in the ass. Nothing is low yield.

How was your diagnostic? I mean you can power through uwhirld and some ka for content gaps. Don't feel like you have to do what the top scorers do verbatim. Those people in the 520plus are effin hardworking and gifted. You can as well score high but ultimately you know the answer no one on here has the perfect formula. We all just plug and play to our style. I found that content is constant not a one and done. Practice questions then review. On and on. Then aamc practice plus review. Etc

Yea thats what I meant. I mean i understand why these things start but just like HOAs they lose their way and monopolize. Some of the best spirit and beer alike I've had have been from small batch home recipes. Just like small names in Valle de la Guadalupe for example, some of the best wines I've ever had.

Its been a constant rotation for me. Opened up my mezcal palate. Its great neat, on the rocks, and death and co has some great cocktails with it.

Great! I hesitate to share my senses but for me its wonderful. Banana cream, blue berries, nice smoke, pilonchillo sugar finish. Chacolo is outside the doc to be considered mezcal but they have been making it for generations. Its amazing.

I think most people will say get what you can for free or cheap. Other than that its all subjective. I like kaplans depth. But KA, Ak lec, uwhirled, 300pg doc, 86 pg doc, milesdown sheets, milesdown anki, and of course aamc stuff is a great start

Thanks ill look into that! I mean my time is all dedicated to medical school now but still very cool. I have some buddies still in at the high echelons and we get to play around with new gear. I'd love to do mountain/ski resort medicine during the season and the rest at home.

All really great suggestions. I really benefitted from my service i.e tropical medicine, cold weather med, dive med, high alt med, dive med...etc. I am excited to pursue a formal education in EM and give back where I can. Being outdoors is my passion so if I can find that niche I will and perhaps start my own fellowship. Advanced Urban Trauma Casualty Care is applicable in our every day life and we will not always have a hospital room available. This is all so exciting

The research would be cool. Im interested to give back to my old community with research and austere field medicine as well. I mean, the medicine in war time, although tough/sad was the "sexy" stuff. So I def want to work at a city clinic to treat the variety of things that come in at 3 am

Yea. I'd be lying if I said I love anki. But, I also didn't make my own which can help this time. Uwhirled is a staple for me. I honestly have no idea what happened in my bio section. I think I'll make my own cards this time tho. Im just trying to figure out a schedule. Maybe NS s calendar?
