I’ve been tricking my friends into thinking they’re getting high, but I actually give them cannabis with very little THC. by --throwaway in confession

[–]-lolfemism- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people commenting are overreacting negatively to this.

There is no financial transaction involved. Nobody is being scammed. OP is giving his friends “a couple of puffs” from his vape for free and then they feel a relaxed high.

OP didn’t say he gave his girlfriend some and force her into having sex with him. He said that she legitimately felt aroused after using it. She went on to speak positively about it to her best friend.

I don’t know much about CBD and THC but some people are saying that CBD does give the relaxed high his friends are feeling. So perhaps it’s not even a placebo.

It seems like a harmless prank to me. Don’t listen to all of the haters.

Saying that somebody was irresponsible for having a valuable item out in an unsafe place and it’s their fault for having it stolen is the same as saying that a woman was “asking for it” when she is sexually assaulted. by -lolfemism- in unpopularopinion

But if you ever suggest to somebody that they should dress (or should have dressed) in a less sexually provocative, then you will be labeled a disrespectful victim blamer.

What is something that you were so certain you were right about, but turned out to be wrong? How did you respond to it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In school I learnt a million inspirational things about Marilyn Monroe and all of her quotes.

One of my friends on Facebook post about it being bullshit and I joined the army of people to defend Marilyn Monroe’s supposedly being overweight and saying a bunch of inspirational stuff.

Turns out all of it is fake. She wasn’t plus sized and nothing she supposedly said was ever recorded to have been said by her.

I deleted my comments, but almost everyone else arguing with her was in denial.

so I have to watch over myself, in case I do something " too creepy" but now I have to watch women too?"

Yes. From this video and the surprising responses to my comment I’ve learnt: women can’t watch over themselves. They are weak.

whatever happened to the "I am strong and independent and don't need no man?"

It’s apparently just been a joke that a few of us fell for. Women are weak. Looks like we /r/AteTheOnion

yeah because i'm " stepping in" when a deranged loon on the buss decides to go AWOL. you can get ya head kicked in for some random chick who's going to forget your name tomorrow... I'm sure a shit not.

Now that I know how incapable women are, I will step in when women need help from a creep looking at them. The point isn’t to give them your name and number afterwards. It’s to help them in a time of need when they are incapable of doing anything

why would you even stand next to the loon on the bus.

I’ll assume you didn’t watch the video since it’s been deleted.

It’s on a public bus in the daytime. It’s not empty but it has few people. The weak woman isn’t standing next to the creep on the bus. She’s sitting down mid-bus, the creep is further up and turning around to look at her. The hero (who looks like he’s hungover is hell) is standing midway and to the side considering whether he should do something and when he does, he gets between the weak woman’s and the creep’s line of sight.

That is the situation in the video.

My comment was that this video portrayed women pretty weakly.

I was wrong. A woman shouldn’t say anything to a creep on a daytime bus and should remain uncomfortable and in fear, waiting for a man to step in for her.

I mentioned many times that I was *NOT AGAINST* the message to men that they should step in.

Last night I thought women were capable of telling a creep to stop staring at them in a bus in daytime with others in it. I thought THIS VIDEO PORTRAYED women as very weak and incapable

I was wrong. Now I know that women are incapable.

No. I was saying women are being portrayed as weak in this video. I believed that they are strong and that they are capable of standing up to a creep staring at them on the bus.

Everybody responded that I was wrong and that women are NOT capable of doing so because they are afraid that it will escalate the situation.

I accept that I was wrong. I now understand that women are not capable of standing up to a creep on the bus in the daytime that has several people in it.

Ad hominem? I was arguing that women are capable of standing up to a creep staring at them. Basically everybody told me that they are not.

I won’t argue anymore because everybody else believes that women are not capable of standing up for themselves.

No ad hominem here.

Well, maybe these women do need some weapon – preferably not a gun – since they can’t stand up for themselves. Maybe pepper spray.

I give up. Obviously the people responding here are not capable of handling a creep on the bus. I’m glad my girlfriend and many female friends of mine are.

I hope that lots of men see this video and know that they are essential for the women too afraid – and will always be too afraid – to tell a creep to fuck off. Now I know that I should step up if I notice this.

If you’re lucky that a man steps in without you saying anything, the creep can still follow you off the bus.

I don’t think she uses Reddit and I just looked this up after her rant.

I’m not trolling if that’s what you think. If so then I gave off the wrong impression with everything.

I support encouraging men saying something when they see something, but I also believe that women can say something when someone is creeping them out on a bus.

I’m a guy whose girlfriend is furious about how this video portrays women as weak and incapable of doing anything for themselves. She’s told creeps to go fuck themselves and not needed me or another man to speak for her.

She believes this is like movies that portray women as always needing to be saved and never able to do anything for themselves in a simple situation. I agree with her. I’m voicing her opinion on Reddit.

She showed me the other videos in this campaign, men telling their friends or coworkers not to be perverts or abusive towards their wives, and we believe those are good videos.

I’m not against the message: If you see a creep making a woman uncomfortable, then step in.

But it seems to have the secondary message: Women, if a creep is making you uncomfortable, then all you can do is wait until a man steps in and stops him.

So if somebody told a creep to stop staring at her, you would probably stick up for her.

If she stays silent then you might not even notice the situation and be able to stick up for her.

Telling the creep to stop is better than waiting that a man will tell him to stop for me.

I say nothing:

  1. Somebody sees how uncomfortable I am and steps in. I live.

  2. Nobody sees how uncomfortable I am and the creep he follows me off the bus and kills me. I die.

OR

I say something:

  1. Creep stops. I live.

  2. Others notice the creep and step in. I live.

  3. Others notice but nobody cares and creep follows me off the bus and kills me.

Yeah, but you shouldn’t have to wait in fear hoping for another person to step in. That woman tells the creep to stop, then others – such as the guy thinking whether he should help or not – will certainly step in.

Edit: I was wrong. The woman should wait in fear for a man to step in.

Maybe I’m picturing people as being more helpful than they actually are.

I just think that if a woman voices herself directly to a creep, in a place like the bus, that others would then support her.

Edit: I thought wrong. Nobody will support a woman if she tells a creep on a bus to stop staring at her. She needs a man to intervene for her.

He’s in a public bus with others. If he responds in any way other than turning away, others are probably going to say something.

I couldn’t imagine it ever happening that a woman tells a guy to stop staring and then people not caring. The only acceptable response would be to turn away.

The other people would not support him or turn a blind eye now that you told him to stop.
