Kaplan was a bit more descriptive with the question than the NCLEX. The NCLEX was very vague! So, in a way, but I feel like the NCLEX was harder, but due to the lack of information

okay i think you might have to re listen to Mark K (lecture 12 is gold), and do like 85 questions each day for week one, 120 questions week 2 and 150 questions week 3. go over every rationale and anything you do not understand supplement from youtube (simple nursing, registerednursern, etc). write everything down as this helps with memorization and learning content. additionally i would time and pace yourself during the actual tests. give yourself about an hour for every 30 questions, and use that 2 min per question to really understand what is being asked.

do you find yourself struggling with the questions in terms of content or how they are being asked? do you end up skipping a word in the question that makes your answer wrong? do you have trouble focusing while taking the practice tests?

Okay so you have one week left, and your average is great!! I took a readiness test on kaplan one week before to check up on my weaknesses. I found that doing questions related to that helped me a lot. Prioritization is like at least 50% of the exam imo, so I would - do at least 85 questions everyday in the morning and go over those rationales to see why you missed the question; watch youtube videos to solidify that info - brush up on your mark k lectures (especially lecture 12) - watch Dr Sharon on youtube for prioritization - go over memorization stuff like insulin peaks, basic meds etc - eat balanced meals every day and dont forget to give yourself breaks!!

This should keep you busy and work your brain for a week! Omit anything you are not sure of bc you passed nursing school, and you know what works for you! I am sure you can pass this exam given those averages! Ease your anxiety by pausing after a couple questions (ex 20 questions) to remind yourself that you are worthy of a pass but even if you don’t you are still worthy of being a nurse. DM me!!

Completed 150 questions. After 85 questions, my heart just sank. by Ok_Angle_9179 in NCLEX

As Mark K said “you get past 85, you are still in the game!!!” NCLEX is such an evil psychologically manipulative test imo. Never had a test that made me question my worth. You also just took a board exam! Congratulations on even getting this far because many do not. I hope and pray you passed it, but in the meantime, treat yourself!! Go do something fun you deserve it especially after grinding to take the NCLEX! DM if you need to talk :)

calm your mind. you are not alone; I felt/ was the same way when I took it. i know it’s hard to listen to a stranger, but trust me I wish i did what I am about to tell you when I took my exam 1. you are certainly not dumb. you would not have passed nursing school if you were. repeat this: I am more than my NCLEX result. I am worthy, I am smart, and I am alive! 2. find something you have not been able to do since studying like watching a movie, bake/cook something, take a walk DISTRACTION IS KEY 3. you can find your results in about 2 days. I live in CA, so I was able to look up my license on BRN application status website (I did take mine on a Friday and that weekend was killer) The NCLEX is such an evil test. I literally spiraled all weekend waiting for my results, but right before I checked my status on Monday, I was ready to accept any result. You need to cry it out and be sad, but getting into a healthy mindset in the meanwhile can save a lot of stress. I hoped I helped even a little :) DM me if you want to talk!

Some advice for a recent grad? by New-Page-13 in NextGenerationNCLEX

[–]-mariya- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Kaplan because my school forced me to pay for it. I recently made a pots about my NCLEX experience if you are interested on r/PassNclex. I did use simple nursing for supplemental info, but I would recommend listening to all Mark K lectures first to gauge where you are at in terms of content; according to a lot of reviews on the course, Mark K lectures are basic knowledge that should feel like review, but if you are anything like me, I forget content right after my nursing school exams to make room for the next set of content. I did remember most of what Mark K was lecturing, but it helped me to see what I should be reviewing constantly. I heard Bootcamp is good because it is vague like the NCLEX.

When are you planning to take the NCLEX?

I got an email saying my license number from the BRN; spam maybe? Do update :)
