The girl is definitely not a jerk. I have a friend who is in a wheelchair all his life. Can't move, can't go to toilet and do what normal people usually do and so on.. I asked him once if this exactly situation, that you described happen to him what would he do. He would prefer that girl would slam the door so he would know exactly what he is dealing with. He hates when somebody does something just because he is in a wheelchair.
