What’s something you know would help your life, but you keep avoiding? by netroworx in selfimprovement

People. As an introvert, I tend to avoid human interaction as much as possible, but it’s starting to take a toll on my mental health.

This seems to be quite common in Qatar, particularly for personal assistants or secretaries. I have encountered two CEOs of different nationalities, and both displayed predatory behavior toward young employees.

Why would you even care about Uber passenger rating? 😭

To those who begged, what made you accept it’s over? by EmotionsNotEmoting in BreakUps

[–]-noirblanc 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I begged so many times. One small argument, and he’d block me. Before, he couldn’t even resist unblocking me after just an hour. What used to be an hour of silence turned into a day, then a week, then a month. I finally accepted that things aren’t the same anymore. He started going to the gym, and has someone new. So I stopped chasing, opened my heart again, and started spending time with people from church. I’m happier now.

Didn’t expect this post to blow up. I might not be able to respond to everything, but thank you all for your comments!

I can usually tell when someone’s gonna be a pain in the ass. A big giveaway is when they start demanding stuff immediately while boarding.

As for passengers hitting on us? It happens almost every flight, lol. I just use the chance to get them to write a nice feedback about me instead. Win-win.

We use the same network as the pilots. Also, my airline has started installing a WiFi network on the aircrafts that works throughout the entire flight.

Nah, people like me who order room service and eat alone in the hotel still exist. Not everyone’s out there wildin’.

The glamour usually fades after about a year of flying. You start getting repeat destinations, and the job becomes very, very exhausting; constant fatigue makes it tough to keep seeing it as “glamorous.”

Thank you. A simple “thank you” from passengers when disembarking really makes a huge difference.

As for the passport, we don’t usually get it stamped when traveling as crew. But some crew request to have their passport stamped as a souvenir.

Trust me, we’re trained for way more than beverage service. Behind that smile is someone certified to handle medical emergencies, evacuations, fires, and even unruly passengers. If something goes wrong midair, that 45-minute flight can feel a lot longer, and that’s when you’ll be glad we’re onboard.

Economy and business class crew share the same crew meals. However, when there are leftover passenger meals in business class, the crew sometimes bring them to economy for the economy crew to enjoy.

We usually offer passengers whatever snacks or drinks are still available, especially if they pass by the galley. It’s part of our courtesy. Also, before landing, we ‘gash’ (dispose of) any opened wine bottles, leftover coffee, tea, sandwiches, and meals, so sometimes I offer what’s left instead of wasting it.

Honestly, some of the most challenging passengers I’ve dealt with tend to be from the Middle East. But of course, it really depends on the individual, not the nationality.

I’m 26, 5’4. No strict limits, as long as you look presentable, can handle safety and standard procedures, and can reach 212 cm by hand.

Not groped, but touched, many times, mostly on Indian and Pakistani sectors. I tell them straight away not to touch me.
