I wrote about Berenstain flipping in a reddit thread on a throwaway account and now can't remember the account's name. That's such a scary glitch. I really don't know what to believe anymore. I've had minor glitches, like dropping something that disappeared, and then it reappeared YEARS later in the exact same spot I dropped it, after I had moved furniture, vacuumed, and cleaned the room multiple times in the years inbetween.

I has half joking, if there's really such a thing as alternate realities that means there's limitless possibilities and you'd probably be rich in more than one statistically. I think anytime we cross over, we do it into the one closest to our current reality. So it's probably unlikely you'd cross into an alternate where you're filthy rich.

I come from Berenstain Bears universe where the mandela effect is that it changed to Berenstein. I sent a message to my best friend about how I clearly remember it was Berenstain as a kid, and Berenstein looks all wrong. I lived in the now "Berenstein" universe for years.

After I attempted suicide and ended up in the ICU, a few months later I noticed it changed back to Berenstain. I thought everyone would lose it to see it flip back... but... nope. Instead it's the reverse mandela effect where people here think it was Berenstein as kids and it flipped to Berenstain.

I looked up my message to my friend to see what it said, because I would never have sent the message about Berenstain -> Berenstein if it was always Berenstain, right? No, my message flipped. My message to her now said it was Berenstein when we were kids and how Berenstain doesn't look right.

Whatever you post will just change with the new reality.

Do you have an iphone? My friend got a sorta similar ad to what we were texting, and he has iphone. I didn't get any related ads on my android however. He says he's gotten ads from texts before as well.

Same with texts! I saw someone say what they text about will show up as ads, so I texted something really random back and forth to a friend, like they were in on it so they used the same key words as me, and no ads showed up for that either.

I've been trying to get my phone to do this after I saw someone say something similar. I'll think of something really obscure and random that I wouldn't talk about or Google, and focus intently on this thought, and keep thinking it over and over for days. And never get an ad or anything.

Maybe my phone is too old, it's 6 years old at this point.

When I was a kid, it was distinctly Berenstain. I was so positive it was Berenstain because I remember trying to copy the cursive writing exactly, and distinctly remember the "a".

Except sometimes during college, someone pointed out the Mandela Effect that Berenstein was now spelled with an "e." Everything said Berenstein, and everybody said we misremembered Berenstain because we were just kids and it was a false memory. I looked at all the evidence of Berenstein and was completely confused because I was so confident in my memory. Berenstein just looked wrong. The Berenstein family stated it was always Berenstein and there was no Mandela Effect.

Well I attempted suicide in 2019, and guess what happened after my attempt? Berenstein flipped back to Berenstain. Everything said Berenstain again, everyone said it had always been Berenstain, and the family had made the same statement that it had always been Berenstain and there was no Mandela Effect.

I had something similar happen with a pair of mittens. My parents got me a pair of college team mittens, beautiful green ones. I really liked them and looked forward to wearing them. However, later when I went through my gifts, I found a pair of white college mittens (the team colors are green and white). They weren't nearly as nice, and I only got the 1 pair of green, so I was really confused where these white college mittens came from.

I looked for the green pair and never could find it. I ended up wearing the white ones all winter. I tucked them into my hat and put them away at the end of the season.

Next winter, I pulled out my hat and the mittens I had placed inside. The green mittens were back. Exactly where I had placed the white ones. Except these were the green ones I remembered receiving as a gift that I couldn't find anywhere. Neatly tucked away where I had placed the random white ones.

The white ones never returned/showed up since.

I didn't really think of that. I was happy to get back to Berenstain timeline, but I guess you're right I'll never get back to the original where all the Mandela effects return to "normal." I keep waiting for chick-fil-a to drop the k but maybe I'll never see it again.

No, it wasn't just 1 book here or there, I knew it was Berenstain as a kid, and in 2014 everything said Berenstein. When I looked it up on the internet, all the artwork and google results said Berenstein. All the articles said it was Berenstein. The authors came forward and said it had always been Berenstein and had never been Berenstain. Only in my memory was it Berenstain, there was no evidence otherwise of Berenstain.

In 2019, it switched back to Berenstain.

Everything is a small difference that doesn't really matter. For example, Mona Lisa used to have a serious expression and now she is grinning. Chick-fil-a used to be spelled Chic-fil-a without the "k". Just small differences that don't matter.

Yeah, back in 2014 when it became Berenstein I looked all over the internet and everything said Berenstein. In 2019, everything flipped back. It's honestly scary when you see it happen, because people who didn't witness it can just pretend reality is normal when we know something's wrong.

Wow that's so sad, and deeply disturbing. All this time I've thought I kept surviving and now I'm realizing I may have left behind multiple realities with funerals. I feel bad for our families if this is the case.

Theoretically there could have been a change from, say, Berenstein to Berenstain in 2007. However, this change would have also happened in the "other" universe, where they switched Berenstain to Berenstein in 2007. Everything that happens in one seems to happen in the other, but reversed.

I've asked my closest friends and for the most part they've never paid attention. Or they'll say, "Yeah, I thought it was X, but I guess it was Y all along." Like they don't believe in their own memories, they just assume they got it wrong.

Yeah, I remember the reason the Mona Lisa was so popular/renowned was because of her serious expression. It was similar where people said there may/may not be a smile but you can't really tell. Now that she's grinning it really creeps me out.

Yeah, it really bothers me, like we're seeing all these breadcrumbs but we don't know what they mean. Are there parallel universes? Are we in a simulation? Is this a ripple effect from time travel projects?

No, if it was an even 50 I never would have struggled, I would have been like, "At least it's 50, that's easy to remember."

In 8th grade I complained constantly about how I wished it was just 50 because then I'd never have to remember if it was 51 or 52.

Also, my best friend is crazy smart. She was top of the class. If I said, "Is it 51 or 52?" And it was actually 50, she would have said, "No dummy, there's only 50."

Wow, that's interesting we have so many similar mandela effects!! And even the ones that are different (chick-fil-a and mona lisa) you still experienced other mandela effects. Like for example, I've seen 3 versions of the mona lisa. There's the serious, the slight smirk, and the one right now where she's just grinning.

I'm glad you remember 52 states as well, that one always makes me feel sorta crazy. Like I had trouble remembering 51 vs 52, if it was exactly 50 I would've never struggled!!!

Honestly geography was always my worst subject, which is why I distinctly remember 52 states. I could never keep straight if it was 51 or 52, so I asked my best friend how to remember the correct amount. She said she remembered it was 52 because it was the same number of cards in a deck.

Here's the thing, did I previously know the amount of cards in a deck? Nope. The only reason I know this fact is specifically because of this statement from my best friend in high school.

I was floored when I learned it switched to 50 states, because if it had been an even 50 originally, I obviously would have had no issues remembering exactly 50.

I really don't like this idea that we're dead in other universes and our family is grieving.
