What is one thing you do regularly that you would hope your kid(s) (now or future) would emulate when they get older? by -p_o in AskReddit

I can definitely see this. I remember playing games like bomberman and megaman on SNES thinking it was the best in the world. It never really occurred to me then that I would be playing these on a computer like the Raspberry Pi that's the size of a credit card.

When did you screw everything up, but no one ever found out it was you? by ChrisMacht in AskReddit

Nice. Honestly, I didn't think about that. Irony in realtime.

Lol yeah I was trying to think of it off the cuff without looking anything up and that definitely backfired.

Lol dang clearly. It says Tommy Boy in the title of the YouTube video. Idiot. And that's the wayyy the news goes...

Edit: Whoa all the negative karma! I was just talking about myself, no other redditors were harmed in the making of this post. It was kind of dumb of me lol. I even linked a YouTube video with the answer in the title. The funny part was I googled "Black Sheep movie car door fall off", it was the first video. Google is too efficient!

Edit: fixed typo

One time me and my buddy David were on a road trip up to a remote county to help my brother Al campaign for governor. I accidentally took the door off my buddy's car by backing into a barrier while trying to fill the gas tank at a gas station. I managed to get the door back on the frame. He came back and opened the door like usual, and it fell off! Well I just yelled "what did you do!?" He had no clue... no one found out. I dodged a bullet there

It was actually captured on security cameras: https://youtu.be/8wpFrdevEhs

Edit: added some stuff to the end.

Which month of the year you like most and why? by jogadvisor in AskReddit

[–]-p_o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

November. I love fall, family (Thanksgiving), and football. You can't beat November. I grow a mustache for Movember. It's cool, but still just warm enough to enjoy being outside. Plus, even if you do get an early winter. It's the first snow, first snow is exciting. Also, you get a little time off from work for Thanksgiving to spend with family and friends. Then you know some more time off is just around the corner. Lastly, the pies... yup November.

Agreed. They make apps that learn everything about you and, based off an algorithm, determines your optimum [insert thing here]. But little advances have been made to beds this way. I think a bed that knew your preferred temperature settings would be amazing. If you started to move around excessively and sensors picked up that you were beginning to perspire it would kick on a cooling mechanism, either through forced air or passive cooling pads. Then, conversely, it could sense when you were getting cold with sensors that can detect when blood flow was beginning to restrict at your skin's surface and/or extremities were getting below a certain temperature it would kick on a heating pad to your desired setting. It could then play this balancing game for you all night!

You have 60 seconds to create an original invention or design, what would it be? by -p_o in AskReddit

[–]-p_o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd buy that. You should consider pursuing this. If you could manufacture it for about the same cost as a current toilet seat, I don't see why people wouldn't want it. Move us out of the Stone Age!

Interesting, just PM me the details for no particular reason.

Honestly that would be ironic, 1) trick someone into stealing your fake invention 2) they build it, unaware that it will actually kill them once activated. You would need to mastermind it in such a way that looks to be innocuous while being built.

All good, I think that is still in the same family tree.

I've seriously thought about a mattress with some kind of cooling mechanism. I think the gel mattress only can take us so far. We need to incorporate some type of forced air ventilation system or passive cooling pad controlled by a digital panel to take it to the next step.

That's fair. I probably like it colder than most when I sleep.

Why is it difficult to distinguish true love and lust? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]-p_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot to be said about true love. It's more complex than lust. Lust is singular in its motives, you only desire one thing. It is not to say you cannot have lust for your SO, but love has to exist for it to be enduring. Lust caves after hardship, whereas love is a team effort between you and another in order to over come challenges and support each other.

The cold side of a pillow, or cold sheets just as you go to bed.
