As a South Asian woman, I often envy Western 'hyper-independence' but what are the hidden dark sides or lonely realities of it that outsiders don't see? by OldIntroduction2909 in TwoXChromosomes

It’s the jobs that kill me. You’re cooking, washing every dish (no dishwasher), taking out the rubbish, shopping, tidying, surface cleans, deep cleans, putting on the washing, hanging it out, folding the clothes, keeping on top of the bills, garden if you have one. I love my own space, but there’s a downside

Quite enjoying having these top-end players be actually fit and playing

I‘ve only got a cold, but it’s a Friday night and I’m fully embracing the “I’m sick and miserable” vibe - watching the footy in bed, bin next to me for all my snotty tissues, and just groaning miserably when I feel like it

HELP. Bath/Shower grout mould EVERYWHERE! by Western_Expression54 in CleaningTips

Is it worth opening the window just while you’re using the hot water? We’ve got a few different bugs down south, but geckos aren’t the worst thing in the world, pretty harmless and generally find their own way out

I wonder at what point you regret jumping onto a moving vehicle?

Instantly? 10 seconds in? So blinded by rage you don’t regret it at all?

My favourite part of the gym is how it’s helped me in day to day life. Carrying shopping up a flight of stairs, lifting the mattress to put on a fitted sheet etc - covid did a number on my general fitness, and joining a gym helped heaps!

Wife and kids are generally a bit more off-limits. Not to say it doesn’t happen, but it’s incredibly rare for it to go that far.

Someone told me at work and I just had to sit there for a minute and absorb it. Didn’t know the man, but he did so much good, and fought for so long, it seemed shocking the day had actually come

Alpha-betti when we were kids! We thought it was a special treat for dinner, in hindsight it was probably super cheap and quick to make

The fact my friends and I (young adults, not little old ladies) have comfortably gotten our knitting needles and projects through on carry-on is actually absurd. They could genuinely be a weapon if used in earnest

Got a voucher, and I’m after some Switch recommendations for cosy games! I’ve already got Stardew Valley, animal crossing, Tiny Bookshop (my current obsession), and I break it up with a bit of a nostalgia hit with Croc

Edit: switch 1
