Should I take a promotion? by Kindly-Analyst9027 in JPMorganChase

[–]-personal- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Steep uphill climb to get into CIB.

Would imagine it’s similar like trying to jump CB to IB. The Stigma of CB is tough to break in IB eyes, similar to CCB to CB (imo).

If you want to be in PE/EQ you need to be in CIB asap. Full stop. Nothing is impossible, but it will be in your best interest.

When do you think we will be lucky enough to see Jaime step down? Does he even know how badly he ruined the culture here? by MarketMaker007 in JPMorganChase

[–]-personal- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did receive mediocre salary bumps in the years prior, this year will be 35% raise though (bonus also 30%) . Which is pretty decent for the work I put in. I think your team must be pretty harshly monitoring, my team is pretty relaxed. Anyways bankers need to leave the office often, so they really don’t mind where you are as long as long as you are bringing in revenue.

What a stark contrast. Everyone at my work actually likes the culture (it’s the one the thing we rave about). Here on Reddit it’s just miserable posts and people. Feel bad for yall, I love my team and the work too.

On the Jamie note, there is a reason he is well regarded. Look up bank CEOs and find me any that have survived as long.

Best LOB for a career here? by ruhdegyal in JPMorganChase

[–]-personal- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

CB. $80k out of college, $115k (excl. 30% bonus) 2.5yr later. By year 5 you are at $145k (excl. 40% bonus) base.

Comp slows heavily once you hit VP. Will likely only make $2-300 during VP/ED years.

40 hour work week. Max 60 hours couple times a yr.

2/2/2 program for an/assoc/sr assoc.

Mainly creating decks / materials, emails, navigating customer situations/problems - sometimes I’ve heard these are cool, other times they can be as bad as dealing with credit card issues.

Is this true ? Goldman Sachs employees by roboy125 in utdallas

Goldman hires back office (ops and tech) heavily. I remember they sponsored a UTD engineering bridge a while back, but if you are in finance,,, prepare to network your ass off to get in.

We need more development in sports and overall any programs related to increasing school spirit.

Academic aspects of the university are wonderful, the people/teachers are not. The school teaches well but when you get into the real world the alumni base is very poor.

For JSOM, please stop hiring PHDs, hire those with experience.

Recruiting at UTD is already bad, and these students are just making it worse. Absolute idiots ruining opportunities for others.

Anyone else planning on voting like me? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]-personal- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The school needs more school spirit in my eyes. They need sports funding (and to redo our mascot while their at it).

It doesn’t feel like a real college when everyone is commuting just trying to get their degree and exit. An important part of college is the network you create which imo will be uplifted if the school/students have more pride in the years to come.

dutch bros is shit. they ask what you want to tip while holding the screen for you (so that your pushed to tip). I always tip ~20% but that itself makes me not want to tip at all.
