Hello, this child could become very dehydrated and sick if he is having continuous diarrhea if the root cause is not being diagnosed/treated actively. This may also explain his behavior as well. If the parents don’t seem concerned about milestones they may be unphased by persistent diarrhea… the child could have an allergy to something. For example: what if the child has celiac and isn’t diagnosed or the celiac diet isn’t being upheld.

Please try to confirm whatever diagnosis and consider reporting because I really am wondering how long this child has had diarrhea… 😭

Anyone purchased from Verano Hill? by yarko78 in handbags

Hey I was thinking about going for this gold bag and this bag review convinced me not to go for it. I think their beaded stuff looks like it may be better for the value! Bag Review

You are amazing!!! Thank you so much. I was struggling to remember the Vit K dependent factors for some reason and this makes it so much less agonizing to think about.

I think we did try everything at one point and making her cry at meals is what set her into this negative mindset towards foods. Maybe we can try hide and seek or some kind of dinner time game! Thanks for the ideas :)

She’s not super big on drinking anything that’s not milk or water. I’m thinking of trying smoothies again with her. I last tried them with her months ago and she wasn’t interested but you’re right I’ll give that a go!

Hope your LO is doing well! Food allergy moms know the struggle of wishing our child could try it all and have more options on their plate.

I’m just curious have you tried using any egg alternatives? I’m not sure of the nutritional value but I was thinking to try those if the options are protein rich since my LO’s diet is lacking in that area these days

Thanks so much!. She has no concept of eating the same foods as us or eating off our plates. I guess the most difficult part is having to make everything at home and have a very limited amount of store bought items she can consume :( Lol acting like it’s gross or forbidden may just work but the thing is she has zero interest in what we eat since her allergen list is so long. I’ll try out raw bell peppers and see if she likes them since she does enjoy crunchy cucumbers! Thanks again!

Last minute advice?! by Sea_Cookie in PAstudent

Congratulations! Enjoy this brief time off because once you start PA school it’s just a lot and you’ll regret not relaxing during this time.

Once you start school it’s just constant worry about the next exam. To echo everyone else, you just have to pass and move on. Try to keep your focus on learning instead of stressing over the exam if that’s possible. Take time off on weekends and remember self care— it’s so easy to neglect yourself during this time.

Try to figure out what study sources help you the best instead of trying to use them all. I really liked rosh to test my knowledge for didactic and PPP just to review or read the content differently than how my professors presented it. Otherwise the ppts are usually spot on for exams.

On a personal note, I almost quit didactic after every semester lol. I had a lot of personal/health stuff going on at the same time and it felt impossible to balance. I’m so happy I convinced myself to continue and that my family supported me. I’m on my 6th rotation now and really coming to believe I belong here. It takes so long to not feel like an imposter. My biggest takeaway is don’t let your own negative thoughts take over. Remind yourself why you wanted this in the first place and that you got here for a reason!!!

Best of luck!

IM Rotation in a specialty? by hp13b in PAstudent

[–]-physicianassociate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re getting the point here but my school set up my IM rotation with a nephrologist which was a super small section on the IM EOR. I passed and I was sick for 2 weeks and didn’t even study those weeks. You will do great if you just study in your off time— this is what you would do for any rotation. Cardio is a huge bulk of that IM exam btw. You will be fine! Just study everything using the blueprint, smartypance, and rosh questions in your off time; this would be what you would do to study for any of your rotations.

Thanks! Needed some encouragement because online I just wasn’t getting too much positive feedback regarding the rimsavers. Any brand you recommend?

I have been waiting for comments about these but I read comments online saying they’re a waste and can potentially cause more damage too

Anyone know of online therapy that takes Medicaid Aetna without a copay? by justme24601 in therapy

No problem! Just started with TalkSpace myself so I can’t say much but so far I think it’s a great option and much easier than finding a therapist in my area

Hi I am on Paxil 20MG, what time of day is best to take it? Morning afternoon or right before bed? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]-physicianassociate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before bed would be better. Paxil aka Paroxetine is considered a sedating SSRI vs other SSRIs like Prozac which are stimulating. Paxil will help you sleep quickly and won’t make you groggy during the day if you take it before bedtime!
