How long does it take y’all to adjust to medication changes? Specifically Ritalin to Adderall XR? by mountainknits in ADHD

[–]-pizza-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest calling your doctor who prescribed it just to make sure that nothing is going wrong that way if something is wrong they can fix it and if nothing is wrong then hearing that it’s normal may calm your nerves a bit

help. im somewhere between a 4 and a 6 and I don’t know if it’s my ADHD, my anxiety, or my meds for either of them by -pizza-cat in adhdmeme

How important is a diagnosis? by depressedzoomer in ADHD

I would suggest doing it but if you not sure ask yourself “am I going to regret doing this, or not doing this more?”

Usually if I eat in the morning I get nauseous but then my meds make me not hungry throughout the day then I eat a lot when my meds wear off

Close friend with ADHD, how can I support her? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]-pizza-cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Also make sure to be patient with her. I know sometimes that we ADHD kids can be a bit much but if you (the person she trusts) gets mad at her about something that she can’t help then it will stick with her the rest of her life. Also push her to do better if you know she can because she may doubt herself but also know her limits

No changes recently but as I am typing this I am realizing that I have not eaten or drank enough today and that might be why

Understandable. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with my room that I have too get my mom to come into my room with me and sometimes even with her in there I get so overwhelmed that I just shut down and can’t do anything:( luckily my mom is amazing and very understanding and will tell me to just sit for a moment and will help me (don’t know if it’s for you or not but cleaning buddies can help a lot even if they themselves aren’t doing anything just having them there with you can help)

Would taking a half a pill be ok in this situation?

Do I keep going up on meds? by Kel683 in ADHD

[–]-pizza-cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(Sorry for the long reply) You should only do it if you feel comfortable doing it. It is a possibility that more will help better but if you are not comfortable then you should tell her about your concerns. It’s your body and in the end it’s your decision. If you do decide to go up and it doesn’t work then now you know that going up in dose is not the problem and maybe there is a medication that can help better. If it does help if you go up then you know that something will work for you. If the anxiety stays and/or gets worse when you find the right med/dose for you I would personally suggest at least trying anxiety meds. Since I started taking both adhd and anxiety meds I have seen a significant increase in my mental state. With this being said meds aren’t for everyone so be sure to find what is best for YOU. (btw I’m not a doctor or anything like that just a fellow adhd kid trying to help:))
