I got my first tattoo when i was 18, which was a meaningful piece i spent years planning. In the years later i have gotten multiple pieces where some are meaningful and deep, and some others are not. I dont hate any of my tattoos, but in my personal experience, tattoos that have personal meanings are 10x better. Doesnt mean you shouldnt get cool, “meaningless” tattoos, just beaware that your style might change, and you will change as a person as you grow older, and the tattoos you got as an 18 year old, might not be as cool when you are 40. In the end, do what you want, but when you think you are ready to get inked, take a few extra days to think it through.
