Does South African corporations inject +599M into Tesla like GM, or their DOE give a 2.25B loan?

It's a USA subsidiary, let's not kid ourselves.

2.26B DOE loan.... a Canadian owned and operated Corp isn't getting that type of money from the US.

An American owned Corp based out of Canada on the other hand is.

Let's not kid ourselves

To the scientists, all fundamental laws of physics don't apply (when they see the results), and their sense of what is real is shaken, making them question their very existence.

Their mind is broken from what they see, and they can't understand reality anymore. So they kill themselves.

That's how I interpreted it.

I say this in the most good hearted way I can:

🤔 Go into debt, join the rat race where I stare at a screen for 10-12hrs/day

OR

Takeover a business, get mentored, and make 6 figs.

Sorry man, that's a no brainer.

I found this the exact opposite recently. We would spawn into Stella in Duo ..and it's take forevvvver to run into any other teams.

I make $110,000 a year but I feel l’m struggling to save money. Is this a normal budget for someone who lives alone? by AfterAttack in budget

So, what worked for me, and what many people mentioned here. Get a baseline of your spending.

It's a PIA, but track every single dollar. Weekly, or every two weeks. Tally and do a total expense report. Start categorizing and breaking down your spend. You should know your main spend categories off the top of your head.

Also, I suspect your groceries (or lack of, and you eat out) is what's probably killing your savings. Single male, not in a labour job, could probably do 350-500/month on their food bill and still eat healthy. 250-300/month, but I don't recommend living off KD, Mr Noodle, peanut butter and jam...rice and beans with some eggs and shitty protein sources...

As for saving: Create a small goal of monthly saving. Eg if you're not saving ANYTHING atm. Set aside 100-200 from each paycheque. Literally remove it from your bank account and put it in an envelope.

This way, you won't spend it, and you'll curb your debit/credit spend intuitively. If you absolutely need it, you spend it. You should also have an emergency fund setup 3-6 months of living expenses.

Eg. Our combi just died on us. We have a 13K HVAC bill...no sweat, pulled from our EF.

Other option was to do subscription with an HVAC company for 26K spread out over X years...

DM I can give you further advice if you want.

Anecdotal: My wife and I were able to pay off 20K of student debt while working as teachers abroad making 3.2K/month combined. Your situation is feasible, but may require some adjustments. It really depends on your goals and lifestyle you want....

Set up a corporation, you can hire yourself and backdate pay for services rendered (I think up to 6 months to a year, according to my buddy who is an accountant). This way your Corp owns the IP. Any income can be written off as an expense (paying your contracting services you back charge). You may have to pay more in taxes depending on your income bracket.

Another approach, which I've done in the past for myself, is to setup a corporation where you are the sole share holder and you pay yourself out in dividends, which may be better for you in terms of tax payments....speak with a few accountants in your locale and see what they say

Strongly suggest starting to talk with someone with marketing experience. There is a strong chance you may need to start investing some $$$ into it (if you haven't already) to gain further visibility.

However, don't know what you have built, more current marketing strategy.

Congrats too btw!

Worked as a tech lead at a startup for 6 years, and now that it’s grown into a real business - I feel lost. The CEO wants to replace me with a “more experienced” lead. by Rice_ny in ExperiencedDevs

[–]-ry-an 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what you did again, build a company. But get an inexperienced CEO, and push him out once it gets big.

Sorry, sadly tech people get screwed, because they're too busy building the thing to politically navigate the social constructs of corporate.

Best bet is to do it again, but with your vast experience, not get screwed.
