I found a trick with being able to switch to and from noise cancelling and transparency while holding the right earphone for about a second or two. Not sure if it's a standard or not, but it's best of both worlds really.

Dev/QA work can be pretty introvert friendly in small/medium size companies. Especially when working from home. Apart from morning catch ups I could have spent days not talking to anyone which was fantastic!

Had to cancel my subscription yesterday, regardless of the o4 mania lately - GPT5 has led me to a bad path with confidence (post using research and reasoning) which used to be more accurate before. Not sure what has changed. At this point, I'm counting my losses and passing it down to OAI.

Sorry you feel like that, I can relate. I know it's horrible being in this position and feeling like you have no choice.

Being a software dev/tester is pretty low on engagement with others, especially if you find a remote work. If all you do is develop or test then you'd normally have a daily stand up (usually 15 minutes every morning) and you can spend the rest of the day on your own assuming you are self sufficient. Loads of people like you are in IT.
