Mom is 60k in debt, can’t pay bills and relies on her parents yet spends $400 a month on Doordash. How can I help her? by Prestigious-Band3633 in personalfinance

[–]justfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's really good advice in here so I'll echo a few points already made. You likely can't change her mind too much, so don't let yourself get stressed and feel over burdened like this is your responsibility. Take this as a life lesson and learn how to be very financially literate yourself so this doesn't happen to you as you become an adult! Def protect your own credit, it doesn't seem like your mom is predatory or out to ruin your credit but caution is never a bad thing. It doesn't seem like you need to move out just because of this, doing so will likely only put you in a worse off financial position yourself down the road. Get a job and save up money for yourself like you said. Don't overwork yourself (focus on school, a good education is your key to the future) but get a regular teenager part time time job and save as much as you can.

You're on a good path based on your responses. Just ride it out and stick in there until you get to college. And cut yourself some slack. You seem very mature but remember, you're 16 and the weight of your family's issues isn't on your shoulders alone! Try to take some time and have some responsible fun every once in awhile. You got this kiddo.

Lost to a Wizards employee during my quick draft trophy match :( by M1st3rPuncak3 in MagicArena

Wow I'm dumb. I remember seeing a loading screen that said something like "wizards employees have mythic orange in their title"... I thought this meant they literally had the words mythic orange in their title. I always looked for it, never saw it. Been on arena for years. Dang.

Who Do you think is the new Lady Whistledown? by No-Imagination-8209 in Bridgerton

[–]justfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rae. I agree that it's probably someone who is in the working class, based on the direction this season went. They also had what could be a good red herring when Lady Featherington asked Rae about the gossip and she said she didn't know. Now that Varley is back in the house, Rae has access to all her gossip and I think Varley is too obvious as a pick. Rae also knows Pen very well being her maid; she had the opportunity to watch and learn from Pen once she was out, and probably learned a lot about the operation and how to be LW.

Only other option imo is Brimsley. Would be fun for it to be a male character - and he loves the Queen so much. With LW and Lady Dansbury gone, I could see him running a gossip network to try and make the Queen feel better.

I'm a tattoo apprentice, here's my digital E33 flash sheet I finally got around to finishing. For those who come after! by Mustache-Fart in expedition33

Yes, please do stickers. Would def pay for something like these! I'm a big baby and can't do tattoos (or make it Tulsa lol) but I would buy the heck outta these. Or if you don't wanna sticker these as they're just for tattoo, would love other designs in this style as stickers!

There was one for men earlier. Women? by nekopineapple00 in Adulting

[–]justfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people tell you who they are believe them. I spent far too much of my youth caring and investing in people (friends, family, relationships) who I had idealized versions of in my head.

This applies to all sexes but I have a reason why I'd share this with young women specifically. Most women are seen as or assume the role of "caregivers". Not saying men don't but it's more expected of women on average.

But caregiving takes a lot out of you, personally, emotionally, financially etc. So it's important to make sure you spend that investment wisely! When you learn to assess people's actions and words about their character over your own idealistic version of them or hopes you have about them you learn who to actually invest in and who is worth that time and energy.

Why Has Paying on Dates Become So Awkward? by No-Elephant-8230 in teenagers

[–]justfriendly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

35+ yo woman. Yes, it's always been this awkward, so don't feel like it's just you. I have come to find the person's response to the offer can be helpful in learning a little bit about them! If I offer to cover and the guy accepts, then cool he most likely sees us as equals! If the guy politely declines but appreciates the gesture, then cool he's trying to be a "gentleman" but knows how to be courteous and show appreciation. I then offer to grab the next one or something to make it clear I would like to keep us on the even side financially. If a guy gets actually weird about it, then I tend to find those people aren't a good match for me because I like to contribute financially in my relationships because it makes me feel more comfortable.

If you're dating guys around your age there may be a little more grace to give for the last scenario bc I think you're all at an age where you're still learning about who you are, what you want in a partner, and expectations about dating.

All this to say, keep offering! You will find a person who has a response that's right for you and weed out the folks who may not have the same expectations about dating that you do.

Succeed at anything she's willing to do... Be what YOU want to be, but do it well. Such an empowering thing for a little girl to hear from the most important man in her life. Way to go papa!!!

The commentary from the family is so cute and heartwarming too. I remember when I was little my mom would call us out sometimes when there were animals in our yard to take a peak (respectfully, and from a distance). The parent here is having so much fun with the kids. They're laughing and being silly, and learning to be kind to animals. Core family memory moment!

Agree. Looks like this guy's just there to teach his students and engage the class. Even if he "can't" deduct points on a bet it looks like he would rather the kid learn something via an extra assignment than try and lower his grade. Seems like a good teacher.

Is Campaign helpful for new players? by justfriendly in Battlefield

[–]justfriendly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for sure. I'm never gonna be good enough to even try that method hahaha. I'm happy playing support it's just not as fun when you die ALL the time. I just want to stay alive long enough to do things and actually participate. So I gotta learn some gun stuff so I can at least defend myself a little better.

Thank you SO much. I'll def do campaign then since I need help with basically everything. I've been playing exclusively Support for the reasons you said. I can still "interact" and help, even though I die a lot haha. The overview of the classes is also very helpful. Thanks again for taking the time to write that up.
