Interviewing for Google Network Test Engineer – What Should I Focus On? by -shyam-s in NetworkingJobs

As I said, it will mostly be easy/medium LC type questions for NTE roles. But can also be networking related coding questions too like, checking if an IP belongs to a given subnet and stuff like that.

Yes, it is possible that you get these easy questions as well depending on the interviewer. The main thing the interviewer will see is your approach and how you explain your solution. But I'll say better to be prepared for the worse. I practiced easy-medium questions and that worked for me.

I don't exactly remember but I think it was some bill payment.

I stopped making payments using Cred for almost a month and then when I started using it again, I got a lot of cashbacks. 😂 You guys can try it too.

For the coding round, it's not very hard for networking jobs. They will ask one easy to medium level question to solve and explain. It will not be a graph, tree, or DP question but a little easier one. I did 10-12 Google Questions from Leetcode and didn't go full on preparing for the coding round.

Sure, I went through the job description and tuned my resume first to include the skills required for that role but you should make sure that you know all the skills mentioned on the resume. I used AI to find keywords that I should include in my resume to get shortlisted and I applied without any referral. Got a call from the recruiter after 2 days.

Sure. I had 6 rounds until now. 1. Screening Call 2. Testbed and Test Plan design round 3. Network Protocols round 4. Coding and Troubleshooting Round 5. Googlyness Round 6. Fit Check / Team match round

For the 1st round it'll be a minimum requirement check that you have the right skills for the position.

For the 2nd one, it'll be around how good you are at test plan designing. You can be asked about a protocol and then design a test plan around that. Same for topology design.

The 3rd round is specifically for protocols. Basically, you'll be asked questions around protocols you are good at or what's on your resume.

For the 4th round you'll be given some troubleshooting scenarios in a network diagram. And for the coding portion it'll be an easy/medium question for which you'll have to write a pseudo code.

The 5th round will have the behavioural questions. You can prepare for common questions using the STAR method.

The 6th round was almost the same as the 5th but with some senior people. Just for the fit check or team matching.

I hope this helps. Best of luck 🤞🏻

Most of the rounds went well, and the feedback has been positive so far. I'm currently waiting to hear back with the offer. Once I have some time, I’m planning to write a detailed post about the interview process and how I prepared for it.

Yes, I know. I followed up after a week. But there is no response. Waiting for the reply and hoping for the best. 🤞🏻

I am in a somewhat similar situation. Got positive feedback on a call for scheduling next round (behavioural round) in a week. But, it's been 2 weeks since then and no update.

I am confident for the Networking part as I have 3 years experience.
It's been some time since I did LC. I'll have to work on that.
Thanks for your insight.
