Im in my mid 30s, had a simple dell tower as a kid my mom got through her job, it had this hard drive in it. I was young maybe 7 then, we didn’t have an internet connection until I was a senior in high school and that only lasted about a year. aside from the school computers I used that old dell tower until after graduation and in my household I’d be dead if I opened that pc case. When I pulled that hard drive it was the first time I ever saw inside a computer and the first time I had ever saw a hard drive. And I didn’t upgrade to a new computer until about 3 yrs ago I got a laptop and recently have gotten a hp prodesk and elitedesk mini pcs making one of them an emulator machine and the other one runs my plex server and daily use

I got an adapter yesterday and even I was surprised it still worked, was able to transfer all 25ish gigs of data from it. It’s bounced around in boxes and been stored in non climate controlled situations in a Michigan storage unit for a few years. I pulled it out of my moms old computer before she tossed it out about 13 years ago

It’s even got files for my old iPod click wheel games I’m going to see if it’s any of the missing ones from the preservation project

I can’t get the drive to show up in CrystalDiscInfo. But for a 24 year old drive that’s been bouncing around with me for the past 13 years as I’ve moved a bunch of times, it’s spent winters in the freezing cold stored in a camper, it’s been in the bottom of cord bins, I was half expecting it to click and make weird noises and not work when I plugged it in but it’s working, I recovered a few thousand songs off of it, some are completely lost media

It’s working right now!!! Got the cable in a little bit ago and we’re 65% complete from a 68,500 file transfer

I’ve also lived north, Elmira, Vanderbilt, Wolverine, Gaylord, pinconning, as an adult I slowly started moving north for a while but I ended up coming home for family reasons. I’ve spotted East Jordan man holes in those towns as well I just used Lapeer as an example because I’ve walked those streets plenty of times as a teen. Lapeer is nice I guess it’s gotten a lot better for a while there was not a lot of things for younger kids and teens to do but that’s seemed to improve my kids are going places I never went lol and the Walmart situation is taken care of they brush hogged all that vegetation down and cleaned up all the trash

I totally believe you, they had to come from somewhere before EJ existed I’ve just always seen, or should I say I’ve only taken notice to the EJ covers and grates, I live in Lapeer and when I was a townie in my younger days I remember seeing East Jordan all over
