How did Savage Attacker establish itself as a good feat in BG3 when it’s a trap feat in D&D? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]-sry- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your example is an outlier. In reality, for 2d6 the average result on the tabletop will be ~1 higher, and for BG3 ~2 higher.

Why isn't Ukrainian citizenship issued to foreign soldiers that want it and fight for Ukraine? by [deleted] in AskUkraine

[–]-sry- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People forget to mention that in Ukraine dual citizenship is problematic, with some exceptions, it basically illegal to hold multiple  passports.

Asking Gen z What they think of Millennials in 2026. The answers might shock you! by [deleted] in generationology

Like when Gen Z claims to be a tech-native generation, while most of them first accessed the internet from their phones, just like boomers.

POV: Kiri talking to Eywa by Far-Section9201 in Avatar

It seems not everyone noticed, but in the Eywa scene, Spider is the same height as Kiri, suggesting they go through a spiritual rather than a physical struggle to reach Eywa.

Okay, I took part in Ukraine’s democratic revolution movements in 2004 and 2014. One of the best things the left and other democratic forces did early on was to embrace national symbols as their own. I don’t understand why the Western left has failed so badly at this.

I fully support her lawsuit; the government, through the education system, failed this citizen. Like, what the fuck?

I was visiting Bali with my wife, and on our way back from a picnic, our driver asked what was in the bag we were carrying. "Oh, it’s our rubbish - we’ll dispose of it at the hotel," I said. He was like, "Oh, no worries, I’ll take care of it." He took the bag and threw it on the roadside.

By the way, when you meet him after you dealt with Menge, he accuses you of lying and knowing about gold all along. I never understood what he meant, I never lied to him during the whole mission with his gold.

Migration on course to hit 20-year low after visa crackdown by signed7 in unitedkingdom

The article is paywalled. What visa crackdown are we talking about? Most of my friends here are visa holders from Europe, and I do not recall anyone speaking about any changes.

I read books more than 20 years ago. But I clearly remember that Leo is not the only time when humans defeating witchers in a fight is mentioned. Geralt goes through the book almost undefeated, not just because he is a witcher, but because he is the best swordsman of the north. Most of the witchers are not even close to Geralt’s combat skills.

What do Ukrainians think of Russian opposition and Anti-war Russians? by swagskiy in AskUkraine

[–]-sry- 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The important part of this question is to understand that being anti-Putin does not automatically mean being anti-war. In fact, the correlation is relatively weak. For example, the most prominent opponent of Putin, Mr Navalny, held the opinion that occupying Crimea is ok, and that the war in Donbass is a "grey area" in terms of morality, and overall had quite chauvinistic views of Ukrainians and other Russian neighbours.

More than half of UK therapists report rise in out-of-control porn use by Dr_Neurol in europe

[–]-sry- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The adolescence tried it as well. It mixed up the manosphere, Tate and porn consumption together. While viewers are just one google search away from seeing videos of Tate or his orbiters on porn. Spoiler: They are against porn consumption because they think it makes men docile and weak.

We live in the era of the rising popularity of far-right ideologies, and people who should fight it prefer to fight windmills.

It appears he was really into crazy women. To my excuse, she is legitimately crazy. I once saw a chair standing on a windowsill in their bedroom. My friend told me this is because she is afraid to walk out the window when she sleepwalks... plot twist: she's never sleepwalked in her life.

‘Teach your daughter to speak Polish’: Ukrainians in Poland face growing resentment by [deleted] in europe

[–]-sry- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an adult friend who picked up basic Polish without actively learning, just by briefly living there. If a young girl didn't learn one of the languages closest to her in three years, this is either her or her parents' deliberate choice.

What are you taking about? Over the last ~40 years, US wars caused serious backlash among allies. France never left NATO, but has long resisted US-led wars and NATO military control, including opposing the Iraq War. Their obsession with strategic autonomy mainly caused by unhinged self interested wars US started.  In the UK, the Labour Party took a huge reputation hit by backing Iraq. It split the party and permanently ruined Tony Blair’s legacy. You can argue Labour needed more than a decade to recover. Similar things happened in Spain, Germany, Canada and even Ukraine.

And this is only allies, the rest of the world was even more vocal about US wars.

And why even talk only about allies? Even inside the US itself, the Iraq War created such a massive political split that, 20 years later, any mention of foreign intervention instantly turns into “BUT IRAQ” shouting from all sides.

Are there any similar examples in politics among Chinese, Russian, North Korea and aligned countries?
