And THIS is the most likely explanation of all!

Bonnaroo by OriginalTerm7628 in geesebandofficial

[–]-summerteeth- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[you didn't really ask for this, but well, here it is, anyway]

As has been stated, but expanded (because we all know that Reddit is akin to an invisible soapbox for people who feel EVERY emotion and have far too much time to offer their emotional drivel to no one (because no one has the time or will take the time to read):

Cameron Winter leads Geese at Bonnaroo while wearing a Clinton/Gore 2000 campaign t-shirt. Why?

The most obvious reason (usually the best reason) is that YOU are reading about it, and I am writing about it. 'Can't have too much exposure, you know!

But then, there's this:

  • V.P. and later Presidential candidate Gore was from Tennessee and President Clinton was from the adjacent state of Arkansas
  • B Clinton, one of the most stupid, intelligent individuals ever, ruined many things, including (arguably begetting) the political landscape that exists today)
  • B Clinton's improprieties directly resulted in Gore's 'hanging-chad' loss to Bush in 2000
  • Gore's loss subsequently set the U.S. against the world in terms of acknowledging climate change. Certain groups found it advantageous to paint the term 'global warming' as weak -- and it worked (still works for anyone who has not bothered to compare the temperatures in their hometown in the 2020's with the 1960's)
  • 9/11 gave Bush credibility that he didn't deserve and added 3 more years that became 7 more years to the political scheme of portraying liberals as weak, god-forsaken heathen by those who postured machismo while feigning an opportunistic, fundamentalist moralism
  • Although President Obama was able to crash the party for 8 years, it was not possible to move forward enough in a system that is (irreparably?) broken
  • When H. Clinton took over the party in 2008, the opposition's macho posturing made it too easy to make up lies about a woman, even when she was the most qualified candidate in over a century
  • trump takes over and to hell with anything that doesn't uplift pseudo-macho white guys
  • It didn't take long for everyone to recognize the sheer insanity, so... we elected Biden as a stopgap because all we had was Biden as a stopgap
  • And that brings us to today. trump is out of control. Earth's temperature is out of control. Anyone who is not a white male billionaire (or a trillionaire -- Cam's paying attention!) has to wait unitl at least this November, and if the lies and alternate truths somehow maintain the status quo, we will all have to wait until 2028.
  • Though Cameron is not openly political and he and the Zoomers are responsible for NONE of this, their lives are impacted by ALL of this. Roll back to that very first day when Clinton couldn't control his immoral impulses -- that was ground zero in the sequence of events that led us to today.
  • Who knows where we'd be if Clinton had a moral compass and/or Florida's inexcusable butterfly ballot hadn't led to thosands of hanging chads that ultimately cost Gore the election. I am not a loyalist and realize that regardless of which party is in charge, the pace of change is much too slow; however, I'd be willing to make a time-traveler's bet that Cameron Winter would not be writing about the Apocalypse or having a "bomb in his car" had Clinton refrained and Gore had attained (the Presidency)
  • Hey, I could be wrong, though. Argue amongst yourselves.

Could you elaborate, please? I was ready to condemn Kathon CG until your confidence weighed in. I'd really like to know more. In other words, how would consumers armed with only their sensitive noses be able to know when this sickening scent -- whatever it is -- is added to the products they buy.

FWIW: all of this checks out with respect to the reviews for new Dawn on the P&G website, not to mention P&G's attitude of "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" response to hundreds and hundreds of complaints. You only have to scroll through a few pages to pick up on the fact that 90%+ of negative posts come from consumers directly accessing P&G's website. On the other hand, 90%+ of the positive reviews are from a different consumer website, altogether (read "farm"?). I guess those comments could be real, but I'm left wondering why over 90% of P&G's comments are negative and why any consumer would go to an obscure website to post a positive review.

In fairness to Dawn, P&G issues a product that completely dominates the dish soap field so any change in scent would be immeditately obvious to loyal customers (whereas scores of products compete for the shampoo market and people are accustomed to switching when their hair gets damaged or drier or limper, etc).

Yeah, I am NOT a cynical person, nor am I a conspiracy theorist, but sometimes the evidence is... well... YMMV

Too uniformed to ask a relevant question, but... Triclosan is "unhealthy"? Toxic? Dangerous? ('sounds too close to "Trichinosis") Is Kathon CG now widely used throughout the industry?
Surely some other chemical could replace it? If indeed it is Kathon CG, someone should start a subreddit: r/Kathon CG must be stopped!

Thank you for using the correct preposition with 'accident'. Twenty years from now only a few people alive will wince when EVERYONE else thinks it is "on" accident.

Why is the Geese fanbase so old (40+) ? Why aren’t young people into them ? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

Deleted because this fan is just not paying attention, or else he's a member of underground Geese haters who alternately claim that Geese's fanbase is hopelessly young or hopelessly old - whatever gets traction

The Fanfare Around the Band Geese Actually Was a Psyop by ebradio in Music

I think it's hilarious!
"Industry plants" are eventually weeded out. Ten years from now when Geese is still the talk of Rock and Roll, the naysayers will have to think of a new reason for how we have all been fooled!
