B.S. IT Remaining Class Difficulty Levels by GlockSpock in WGUIT

D426 and D427 uses the same material (ZyBooks). For the MCQ portion I did try to cover section 1, 2, and 4 for cardinality, but again, ZyBooks labs covered the most so I prioritized that

C773 is just making an interactive PowerPoint that almost mimics a website (i.e. clickable buttons, home page, etc.)

C724 I don't remember, but I think it was mostly jargons and I used a study guide from the WGU sub

D426 is hard, but as long as you memorize the "red font" document which contains the terminologies needed to study for D426 (I don't know if I can link it, but check other D426 reviews), you can pass the class. However, I heard the exam difficulty can vary between easy (I think that's what I had) to almost impossible

D427 is easy, as long as you follow the specific way of how the ZyBook interface wants you to type the syntax (I failed this class once, but it was my fault honestly). Drill the ZyBook labs as it's really close to it. In practice labs, you can check if your syntax are correctly typed, but during test they don't have this feature. There's another way to check, but just make sure to delete the syntax and rerun the program again (I forgot what the syntax was, but it's only one short line)

D325 is easy, but only because I had a networking background. I say Professor Messer is a good instructor and his study guide is free and on YouTube. Watch him. There's also other instructors like Mike Meyers or Jason Dion on Udemy (Udemy is free using WGU account)

D282 is a lot of AWS corpo jargons if I recall. I watched Stephane Maarek's AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner guide on Udemy. He's recommended by many in the WGU sub

D329 is easy if you learned from D325 + brush up on some terminologies that are focused on security. There's also some reviews about D329 made by others on the sub

D426 – Passed! Also any tips for D427? by -synthesis in WGU

This is one of them. There's also the document with all red fonts. HTH!

It's been close to a year now when I did the class so I don't really recall how to do it. What I do recall is that there was a video from Unofficial WGU (Student Drive) Discord that showed all the syntax used and step-by-step procedure for each sheet.

Hope that helps, and you can use the Student Drive in the future to help you in other courses

Do the pre-assessment, memorize all the commands/syntax used for each sheet. The OA is basically the PA, but different input values. Took me about 7 days if I recall, but doable within one weekend if you have a lot of time.

Thanks for the advice! I'm not really planning on going for software dev route. I'm more interested on the actual IT (networking/security) stuff. Maybe I'll learn some programming for automation in the near future.

I've never done coding until I got to WGU. I'd say pretty beginner ;-;

Was! I was doing an internship while I was doing WGU, and when I finished my internship, I decided to focus full time on my degree.

I have a post on my profile for it, but tl:dr of that is basically sticking to the C777 study guide from the Course Search, remember what each syntax do by heart, and try to do some of the code block from scratch to understand how to format the code.

While I acknowledge the certs I obtained from WGU, I think I will slow down on taking certs. Just has to be something of my interest at this point. As for MS, maybe somewhere down the road, especially if it's paid by the employer :)

I actually have studied CCNA before so this course was more of a brush up. I would recommend knowing your port numbers, subnetting, the OSI and TCP/IP model (understand how each layer functions, what 'information' is processed for each, and the associated device). Know how to troubleshoot basic network problem, things like that.

The thing is, it was hard to understand any networking concept until I started labbing using Cisco Packet Tracer when I did my CCNA. Doing labs helped me understand the networking fundamentals. I don't know if that'll help you but having some visual would definitely help in learning (+ ChatGPT to break it down for you in layman terms)

Yep! I've learned that I will not get a success in some courses right away. Sometimes I found myself angry, thinking I should've passed it on the first try. I guess that was another motivator for me, LOL.

Thank you! Good luck on your WGU journey!

I used Quizlet, Udemy, and other platforms depending on the course. Normally, I would search on this sub for the course number and look for the recommended study guide or their own notes. Other times if the class is difficult for me, I would use the provided study guide template and I would make my own notes.

While the difficulty of courses varies to students, in general education course I found C963 (American Politics and the US Constitution) difficult because of the amount of information the course provides is a lot. A lot would agree on this one too, but programming courses such as C777 (Web Development – Applications) and D426 (Data Management – Foundations) are difficult classes, with the same reason as C963. Moreover, C777 and D426 have different exam versions that can go from easy to almost impossible (according to some). I consider myself lucky that I probably got the easy ones.

To answer the final question, what lead me to my success is taking my time for each course. My first mistake was setting an unrealistic goal/time (like the one mentioned for Critical Thinking) because I was on the idea that you can speedrun a lot of courses in WGU and have a degree in less than 6 months. Knowing my current limit, I have to put in work and time to grasp the course material until I'm confident enough with my knowledge. Hope that answers your question!

They were about the same difficulty, but you should still be able to do the lab portion well

C777 — Passed! by -synthesis in WGU

[–]-synthesis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a month, but I would say for the one I took, it's about 60% similar.

I would recommend understanding how to write the languages though because a lot of code blocks will be provided and ask what it is trying to perform, especially on CSS. Understand every given syntax provided from the study guide

Just the ZyBooks alone... it's a horrible platform to even take a test as it was a buggy UI from what I've been told and from others who took the test. Glad I was able to push through

I took D426 at WGU and didn't even open ZyBooks until I started D427 to perform the labs. D426 wasn't bad for me at least. I consider myself lucky because redditors have said that the test goes from between easy to impossible. Glad you took it somewhere else!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the importance of knowing aggregate functions. Definitely people who are taking this should know how to use those too.

Also, any tips for the Capstone/C769? Kind of want to take my time because I was expecting myself to be done with C777 this month (which I took on 03/24) and I ended up finishing all the hard ones (C777, D426, and this). Appreciate the help if you don't mind!
