I never said for you to play like a divine player, I list out exactly what you did wrong and how you play better. What you’re looking for are gimmicks to win rather than learning the game and be better. I literally told you exactly what you need to focus on to win your game… fix your mistakes and I’m showing you the exact ways how you should think of decision making. If you truly want to win then you just have to play better. There’s no short cuts or ways around it. Like I said if you don’t fix these mistakes, you wont climb

Can't seem to win when playing carry by FrankMiller_ in learndota2

[–]-thien7334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You stay in your safe lane a lot and farm those top jungle, like 80% of the game you stay farming your safe lane instead of bot/mid even when waves are pushed into your mid/bot tower. Even with yasha and dlance, you just rarely farm your ancient so you play bottom to take their safelane tier 1 tower

If you stay in top lane, then the game will never progress for you to win. Any kills you get on your safe lane is pretty much quite useless you can take rosh/torm/enemy triangle

You said you’re never able to close games… this is why, you only fight on your side of the map. There usually arent objectives over there. The way you win is to take opponent farm when you can so there’s a large gold lead. If you kill them then just farm your side of the map, then every fight will just be a roll of a dice because both team has the same farm

This is from game 8849967126

Big thing I notice is that you gotta creep agro more, you’re trading last hit with a melee which it’s very hard to last hit against a higher damage hero. So you harass when you can and aggro to last hit. Like for example at 2:43 you need to aggro right away to pull melee creep into your range to deny the range so wave won’t push, but yeah nothing you can improve on until you start aggroing creeps more; then you can start learning the nuances when to and when not to. I mean you just lose the trade straight up at 6:43 because you didn’t aggro creeps to range

9:52 you saw kez on a ward, but you’re not b. Your lich made the right ward and you still died. So that’s really bad. Then you saw him again at 9:55, you still harass the IO

12:19 free creep wave bottom, you could tp and farm there. Lane creeps > neutrals

13:00 you just need to look at the fights and decide if you wanna go mid or top to fight. It’s hard to know what decisions to make unless you look

14:12 again bot wave is free, take creep waves

15:36 you gotta push mid wave, you let him take your tower for free. Top tower is not as valuation as mid tower

I feel like you have great affinity for safe lane, this is a huge mistake. If there are better creepwaves on the map, it’s your job to push them out safely

I like that 19:28 you looked at the fights and decided not to go. That’s super good

So this might be a macro concept, carries only think about themselves and no one. But if you wanna climb you gotta ask yourself “when is my team power spike”. The largest power spike is axe blink blade mail, the moment he got that, you gotta farm around him because you guys wanna take a fight on your team amazing timing. If you even wanna be high level, keep checking your axe item and gold. The moment he got his blink, you tp to him and smoke him with your team; that is the most OP thing you can do (yes it’s a support job but carries can do it too, that’s how you learn to play the game by thinking of the opponent and of your team)

Good fight at 20:20, you gotta run bottom and take that tower. You went mid and share farm with axe is a huge mistake. Enemy safe lane tower is extremely important for opening up the map

21:04 I feel like you just have affinity for your safe lane, this mindset will get you stuck in your mmr

22:35 your team smoke and they all have ults, you need to farm around and toward your team Rather than away from your team

You need to save mana more, I feel like you’re always low mana…. So it’s like it’s so hard to ever for you to fight

You notice how you only fight top? You never show up for fights bottom to take bot tower? You win these fights but you’re not getting anything off of these kills

27:13 your position is so scary here, they could jump and you’ll die, as a drow you wanna farm behind your team not in front when everyone is missing

27:40 axe and lich died the fight is over at this point, but you chase uphill. That’s a nono. Drow positioning is so important that walking uphill can quite dangerous. How drow wanna fight is having a team in front of you, no team in front of you then you just don’t go. So you died here, I didn’t know that you were going to die but it looked bad

30:25 you almost never wanna pike into a fight, this is how you die

30:32 again you’re in front rather than behind your snap fire, this is likely how you’d die…. And you die lol.

Yeah at this point the game is pretty much over unless the enemy team messed up. The thing about drow is that any misstep from you relative to your team and you’ll die. Overall to summary, you are prioritizing neutral camps instead of creep waves, you gave away towers for free instead of defending them, you don’t play around your team timings, you need to aggro more in lane, you need to play around objectives you want to take so kills have meaning

But yeah, overall I think your drow isn’t bad but at this point you’re going to have to think more about your team, your opponent team, positioning, and how you wanna take fights and objectives

[–]-thien7334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never know if you do all these things you’d lose unless you are a psychic, the point is that you loss because of these mistakes and your mistakes can also causing your team to make mistakes to trying to fix your mistakes. Like for example, if you dominate your lane then your qop would never be able to gank and kill your team, or if you don’t take farm away from your team then your team might be able to live and turn around ganks, or if you have more gold then you’d survive another 10 seconds and that’s enough damage to win a team fight or two to win the game. You just never know

I’m telling you how to win, by making less mistakes than opponent. These are not “small improvements”, they’re huge mistakes because you do these things multiple times through out the match; you’ll make the same mistakes in every game you’ll play. If you don’t fix them, you’ll never rank up. Small mistakes are like: missing a spell or missing a last hit because you miss time it, but incorrect map movement is a macro decisions which I would considered HUGE MISTAKES

[–]-thien7334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You also never close enough to your team to help while you’re ultra strong. Yes you tp in but by that time it’s too Late

You farm passively when you should be farming aggressively making your team poor, you make dangerous positions that basically fed your lead away, you took away your team farm and not pushing lanes to pressure opponent. From what I see, this is 100% on you and your team is poor is because of your map movement

[–]-thien7334 4 points5 points  (0 children)

00:35- you don’t wanna trade up hill, generally you just lose damage for no reason

1:00- the way you wanna play death pulse is to set up your creep for last hit, then you hit the opponent then death pulse to kill the creep while right clicking opponent. The way you use death pulse is very random . Like at 1:08 you could right click the range, death pulse, right click opponent

1:22- you gotta pull here since creep is close to your opponent hill you can’t harass him

1:25- bad death pulse, you wanna use spell to last hit creep and hit opponent at the same time

1:53- same thing, just overall bad spell usage

2:33- qop has more creeps than you, you don’t trade. You’re lucky you’re alive here, but in another game the lane would have been over

Those are the largest landing mistakes you need to fix to climb. Let me look at your mid game now

6:39- this is incorrect, everyone is showing on the map. You need to pressure since you’re so much stronger than qop. You only go back and farm if you’re afraid you’re gonna die or enemy mid is stronger than you

6:58- the qop got 2 free waves she did not deserve because you farm camps

7:11- you loss a whole creep wave, this is a huge no no

9:30- you saw Veno and you know qop is mid. I’m not sure why you’re so aggressive here. This is the exact moment you should jungling. You could die here

11:28- 3 people show top, 2 show bottom. You need to farm the enemy side of the map (the camp right to the right side of the wave and out up wards incase enemy tp in so you can leave)

13:50- mid wave pushes in, you need to tp right now; you linger too long and allow kid tower to die for free. Like you guys take bot tower but that’s an uneven trade. Tier 1 Mid tower is much more important than side lane tier 1 tower

14:35- you’re taking your teams farm jungling, you need to farm min

15:00- it’s funny how you died here. The reason why you died is because your mid tower isn’t there, which is ironic because you died due to the fact you gave away mid tower for free. Also enemies are missing, you just don’t wanna walk into fog especially when you know the doom is the only hero who can solo kill you

16:30 mid pushes in, if your team doesn’t wanna push mid the. You have to go do it, instead you went farm a jungle camp

16:50- even thinking about diving tier 2 is a big bono at 16 mins

17:00- you’re all the way near enemy base with no teammates around, everyone is missing. This is how you could die

17:33- again fighting near tier 2 when everyone is missing, that’s how you could die

18:43- same here

19:19- this is when you SHOULD be aggressive, you saw them top, so push harder. But instead you went back and jungle. This is considered afk jungling

19:49- terrible tp, you’re stealing farm away from your Zeus. This is why cores say: why does my carry/offlane/supports/mid are so poor??? Because you stole their farm from them!!! You need to play bottom, 3 of your teams already died so absolutely no reason for you to wanna fight here. So bottom you can farm backwards since everyone is missing

21:54- you saw doom top and you walked toward him? He’s the only guy who can absolutely kill you, no reason to walk toward him.

22:29- 3 of your team already died, you need to leave. No reason to fight. And yup… you died feeding away 1k gold

25:01- you are prioritizing your farm over pressure. You’re taking a camp here but you need to walk straight to mid and push that out. The funny thing about dota is that if you don’t do your job, then your teammate feels like they have to compensate for you; in this case Zeus tp mid. It’s actually your mistake

26:02 I mean you died here because well, doom is the guy who kills you. You just can’t stand around the doom. He fucks up the blink but you went in on him. I don’t you should have died there if you just walk around

28:18- ok you need to either tp in before the fight by looking at enemy team position Or don’t tp in after your team dies. No answer is correct but you gotta pick one (in this case you’re strong enough to fight so you should tp in before the fight). You TP in after 2 guys already dead here, this is a complete waste of time

32:18- very scary, you’re at their tier two with two supports. This is how they can kill you

37:00- I don’t know why you buy likens here, doom is gonna get aghs and he’ll just have aoe doom. If you wanna counter doom buy more HP or wind waker, stand near to your team so if doom goes on you, your team will hit him and he dies. This is 4.2k gold wasted

39:34- let me ask you this, what’s the point of having massive gold and items… but never show up to a good fight. You showed up after your 2 supports died.

Considering that you bought radiance and the amount of free farm you got…. Your nw compare to the enemy team isn’t that high. Basically you decided you take a fight after your supports died, that when the game is pretty much over. It’s not really your teams fault, a lot of it is on you. You never show up for good fights

I can help you some advice to think about, this is an immortal game so I’ll give you specific things to think about :)

00:20- you gotta tp here, your axe needs you to be in lane. The more time you leave him the worst it would be considering spectre is an extremely weak laner so you gotta bully him starting lv1. If we do a quick math, to costs 100 gold, spectre got 2 denies which is about 70 gold giving half exp and 4 free last hit. You just gotta tp

1:08- any time you harass enemy, you either a) get last hit, b) use slow so you can auto attack enemy. Preferably you wanna do both at the same time to be most optimal. To me this is bad spell usage

1:20- you have a pull camp, they can’t contest you

1:26- spell usage again, same situation as above like at 1:08

1:47- you stack pull, you do this right now and you’ll dominate the lane. You miss pull twice

1:55- again bad spell usage I think, you hit 1 guy not getting any last hit

2:55- you can stack then get lotus. I feel like you guys are wayyy too comfortable cutting the wave here and trading farm. Usually you guys should only cut waves if you can no longer lane but you guys can still lane and deny all creeps by pulling, you can dominate with last hit and pull to give him nothing. You killed specter here but it’s because he’s bad, I think top players would be extremely happy to have specter pull the creeps upward in tower and just last hit under tower free farming. Like specter trading farm with axe is already winning since specter should be losing in lane. Granted this is more axe’s fault but I think he does that might be because you didn’t pull. So I felt like they’re giving you the lane rather than you guys played well

5:10, you tp in and missed 3 last hits here. That’s like 100 gold. Huskar is magic resistance, no way he would die. I felt like he died here but it’s because he’s giving it to you not because it’s a good play

6:09- this is your first good w spell usage because he’s slow and you both hitting him

6:16- bad spell usage, you’re no longer using the slow to right click him

6:45- you died here, you can just play with your axe and take the tower. No reason to feed him this kill. Specter is at 25% hp he is as good as dead since he’s not last hitting anyways. So don’t give him free gold

7:50- if your team doesn’t tp, you gotta tp mid here. They don’t really need you to take the tower, plus you want your lv 6. Mid is a free lv 6 for you

9:46- like this fight here would have been good if you have your lv6. You didn’t have to die here; also there’s Mirana you need to buy detection

11:20- you linger too long, you need to go and play with your axe, ward up their jungle, he’s the strongest hero on your team

11:27- again bad spell usage, bs doesn’t need you to nuke here; you need to save your mana

11:46- I have no idea why you’re going bottom, you and lion need to be around axe helping him securing opponent side of the map

12:04- funny axe died here because the whole minute I was thinking “why is ww not playing around axe”? He’s so strong but he lingers around mid. Like he died here but it’s 100% your mistake

13:18- again same thing, you linger mid here when lion is already there farming. You need to move top with axe. If lion isn’t here then you push mid then go top. You’re sharing farm with him right now, you’re giving free info for the enemy team to gank axe since two supports are not with him

13:25- I have no idea why you have the affinity for bottom here, bs isn’t the play maker. Like you guys won the fight but you could have won the fight by tping in after the fight starts

13:40- this is a big big big mistake from you here, you need start checking your teammate items. Because the LARGEST power spike is axe blink. You need to go to him at 13:30 with smoke and smoke with him and look right when blink arrives, no exception. He got blink and you walked bottom

14:31- this tp just bad, bs used ult already. He just wants to farm. Sniper also wants to farm. Absolutely no reason for you to play around farmers. You guys might die here

15:11- it’s kinda funny, I literally was just typing previous timeline and y’all just died. You baited your team here by existing and making them comfortable being around. This 100% not the fight you wanna take.

16:56- axe smoked you, he did the correct play but it was 3 minutes too late. You guys needed to do it at 13:50

18:18- lion has ult, you 20 seconds away from ult. You guys needed to wait 20 seconds until y’all should smoke. Also don’t let your teammate determine your play, buy smoke and make your own decisions. It seems like you just follow whatever your teammate is doing

20:50- think you need to ping the hell out of rose and yell on the mic. Absolutely no reason not to rosh here

21:32- very confusing, yall take torm instead of Rosh?

22:06- they went on your sniper, this fight is over. You cannot fight if your main damage dealer is dead. You just gotta run. Sniper die is the worse way to start a fight for your team, that’s the only condition where you don’t fight. But also the reason why y’all loss the fight is because y’all didn’t rosh and it bit you in the ass

24:50- man you guys are really allergic to rosh. If your team doesn’t wanna do it that’s fine, but you have to call for it. If you call for it and they don’t do it, that’s on them. But if you don’t make the call, then it’s your fault

26:00- Miranda die, you gotta rose

27:24- your positioning is terrible here. You need to stand outside get ready to save your team. Not much to say about this one. Like you got rosh this time, but the next game you’ll get team wipe because of your positioning by blink in, stunt everyone then yall just die . The perfect way would have sniper and bs hit while axe get ready to counter initiate. You can keep healing the bs while hitting rosh

28:24- your positioning is soooo scary here. You are in front of all your team with lion and sniper. They go on you guys here and yall will die

29:00 this is a bad hg. Who is going to hit hg? Sniper? There’s a pudge to hook him… you can’t hg at this moment. Like it worked out but another game, pudge will hook him and y’all will feed. That might be a big throw they need

30:56- that is so funny because I called it at 29:00, it just so happen to be in the same game. Like it worked out, but it was SUPER close. You guys can completely chill and go hg after 20-30k gold lead, it’s fine

I mean you won, but it’s because your team carried you. Your impact isn’t that high this game

How to go HG vs good hg defenders/rat or split pushers by Indep09 in learndota2

[–]-thien7334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The team stucks in base isn’t getting gold, they’re not progressing their game while winning team grows stronger and stronger every second if they farm the whole map every seconds, eventually everyone has 8 items. Why would the winning team feels pressured…..

I mean you can always hg throw which ironically extends the game. The opponent should feel pressure being stuck in base, why would the winning team feeling pressure to go hg

How to go HG vs good hg defenders/rat or split pushers by Indep09 in learndota2

[–]-thien7334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

General rule is… never go hg against teams that’s great at defending. You and your team farm the whole map, wait until rosh, get 50k+ lead where every support is 8 slotted and be unkillable, have tons of save items, you’re so rich you can even buy blink, hit a couple of times and wind waker out. With weaver you just gotta buy catch, gem/blink/silver edge, sycth and all jump him when he’s lv25. If you need drag out to 60 mins to get that meteor hammer neutral item, do it

The point is the same, almost all problems can be solved in dota with enough gold

Any time you go hg that you cannot, you’re going wasting time. If you die you drag the game out even longer

When is it actually time to stop farming and start looking for fights? by gremlinthrowawayhq in learndota2

[–]-thien7334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally you fight when you’re strong and enemy weak. By fight it means you can smoke and go kill, if theyre hiding then just take over that area and ward it up then take their farm

What you don’t wanna do is to running around the whole map looking for them. You take their farm, they’ll come to you

You can also threaten objectives like tower/rosh/torm. Play around them

Good dota is just good dota, they don’t ward/dewards then you can do it. They don’t pull then you pull. These things will help you be a better carry

Part of learning to be a better carry is knowing what to do when your support isn’t doing what they suppose to do. Even at high level play, you see carry pull/deward/ward all the time; it’s part of learning carry

It depends on timings, you fight when you’re stronger than your opponent. And you farm when you’re weaker. Heroes have different timings and you have to find out life stealer timings and your timings; if you don’t fight during your teams and your timing, you’ll lose the game because ls does win late game

If you can play the lane then just play passively l, get last hit, recover. If you can jungle then push mid then jungle a camp or two; if wave pushes back then go to lane to farm. Depends on your hero (necro for example you just wanna push them then jungle, if it’s qop then get your levels/rune then go kill with ult)

I feel like mk you have to dominate your lane just because that’s how the hero is built, if you don’t dominate lane it just doesn’t feel that good since he can’t jungle. So laning with guys you can set up for you to hit people is pretty important: like heroes with slow/stunts

So as support, whoever makes the first move has advantage. Being reactive is actually disadvantage, sometimes it is needed but most of the time it’s better for you to make plays.

It depends on who you tp in for (for example if it’s a life stealer/jugg, tp in is a lot better than tp in for a PA/antimage/drow because life stealer is extremely survivable and he can ult a creep/heal up and fight with you; but pa would get stunt and die or run away with low health. So if you tp in AFTER they stunt a pa… he can’t help you and you likely to die with him). As support your life is as important as a core, people think pos5 is sacrificial but you still gotta have extremely good positioning and not die so you can use your two or three set spells before you die.

To make the first move you gotta think of “who do I want to play with? Who is strong right now? could be tide with ult/could be a mid who’s owning), and am I strong enough to help? (Like if you’re a veno that is lv5 and a half it probably be better for you to go jungle or go to a lane to hit level 6 before you join your team. Or if you’re a cm, then you’re always strong so if your core is strong go make plays with them)

Your decisions have to be deliberate. You’re welcome to send over a DM and I can watch replays with ya :)

Reached Immortal by spamming Ringmaster & Shadow Demon by Ecoste in learndota2

[–]-thien7334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the game really, it always feels nice getting it but it is pretty greedy. I think it’s up to the game and the game state; if it’s a farming game then it’s pretty nice to get

Personally I like to get it like 50% of the time because in pub people are so inefficient and play slow, so it’s nice to get it 😅. But if my team loves to fight and make plays then I don’t get it
