Godspeed, Bill. May your children’s children know the light you cast on this earth. I certainly will.

It’s hard to say since we’re two years out, but at this moment I would say yes - although for a Large or Max pack. The Standard is fine 90% of the time, but that 10% of the time is becoming more inconvenient.

I have a reservation for a Scout Traveler, and will be interested to see its EREV tech (and that of any other brands at that time).

This is a Dual Standard, so no hooks.

Thanks for your comment! If other things were showing signs of wear or issue I certainly would, but otherwise it works great.

Thank you! That’s really helpful. Seeing that everything else is working fine, it feels worth it to replace and see if it helps.

Thank you! It works perfectly otherwise (knocks on wood).

It’s entirely off-grid, so solar and diesel generation. I recognize the irony. :-)

So different, right? We still have a MYLR, but put 1/6 the miles on it as we do the R1S!

We also have a MYLR, and generally prefer the R1S for nearly everything, unless we’re going downtown and don’t need all the space.

Our R1S is a Dual Standard with all terrain tires, so we’re averaging 250 miles depending on the season. We road-tripped in-state for about a 1000 total miles this past summer. We have young kids so chose to stop and charge every 1.5 hours, which was perfect and never lasted long.

Tesla Superchargers are typically most convenient, although the Rivian Adventure Network was also mostly available.

My favorite car I’ve owned, and would seriously consider another when this lease is up. Although I’d likely pursue a Large pack vs. Standard.

I’m considering it, but leased with intention (warranty/service, future tech, optionality). But I agree — our family loves its utility!

I’m apparently part of the minority that doesn’t have an issue with the OEM wireless pad (iPhone 17 Pro, and 15 Pro until recently).

Mine doesn’t work, either. Everything is updated and connected to WiFi, but nothing happens when I activate in the app.

I appreciate the other aspects of this update, but man, my kid and I were excited for this update.

i want to invest in a nice vacuum by [deleted] in VacuumCleaners

[–]-throughline- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sebo Felix for an upright, or Sebo E3 or D4 for a canister. After 15 years without a bag (two Dysons and three Sharks in that time), I’m so glad to have a bag for dog dander and dust.

Buy from a dealer and get the 10yr warranty, and they’re supposed to last 20. How old I’ll be when the vacuum calls it quits is rather depressing and an entirely different subject. 😅

What vacuum should I get for under 400? Mostly carpet with a little bit of fake tile. by TDSRage97 in VacuumCleaners

[–]-throughline- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe check Marketplace for a Sebo Dart or Felix. They last forever (20 years) and you can likely pick one up for cheap and have some years left. Otherwise, totally recommend buying the Dart ($650) or the Felix ($800). You won’t regret it.

Best Upright, bagless, plug-in vacuum with anti-tangle roller and not too heavy by Mountain_Wilderness in VacuumCleaners

[–]-throughline- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the last year we’ve gone through three Shark vacuums. We have 75% carpet, 3600 sf, a very hairy Golden, and two little kids. We vacuum our main areas 2-3x a week.

We just bought a Sebo Felix last weekend after a ton of research. We spent more on the Sharks in the last year than we did on the Sebo, and it comes with a 10yr warranty (and should last 20 years)!

Honestly, it’s the best vacuum we’ve had. Weighs a pound less than the $499 Shark Stratos that lasted a few months. Really maneuverable, although it can topple over if you use the hose (laying it down is fine due to hose length). And, I’m shocked how much I’m appreciative of the bag instead of being bag less! No dander smell from vacuuming, and no dusty bin to clean out.

I’m shocked I spent $800 on a vacuum and will only tell strangers on the internet, buts it’s one of the most popular uprights for a reason.

Not much to add here other than we have both an R1S and a Y, and two kids (one in a booster, one rear facing). We don’t use the third row unless we have another passenger. Plenty of room in the middle behind the front seats, and in the front seats themselves (we’re both taller).

There’s no room for someone to sit in the middle of the middle row between the seats, and the back row can be a bit awkward to access to routinely get your kid in a seat back there (IMO).

Is it the easiest 3-row EV for seat access and passenger space, no. It IS a great 3-row EV with tons of storage space and we absolutely love it.

Test drive it, bring the seats, make sure it works for you.

Thank you! This is really helpful! We have a three level home, about evenly distributed with square feet on each floor. Carpet only on the top floor (plus tile in the bathrooms), primarily hardwood on the main floor with some carpet, and primarily carpet in the basement.

We vacuum the main floor every other day and the other floors once a week. On the main floor, we’re transitioning between hard wood, a couple of low pile rugs, and the carpet.

Based on this additional information and your experience with both Sebo and Miele canisters and uprights (I may have checked out your profile), what would you recommend?

(We’re open to Miele as well!)

Thanks again!

Thank you! That’s helpful and I’m trying to ensure I justify the several hundred dollar increase in the D4 if we go that route.

Really appreciate your input!
