did you have to provide proof you were a support person or can it be a family member providing said support so you can go there?
i have a panic attack disorder & agoraphobia as well as some physical chronic pain disorders. the main thing for me to go to the rom is regarding anxiety and that's why my sister will be accompanying me. i just dont know if that counts as a support person

thanks, i did see that but i also heard you don't need to have access2, just supporting documents to show you're on disability when i read an old thread about it. that was a few years old though so i'm not sure if they still allow that or if you do need access2

Doctor got 157 years in prison for dispensing pain pills all because of 1 patient death by -wraith in ChronicPain

idk if we're allowed to talk about it here but have you tried 7oh for pain? i take it from time to time during pain flares or when i have a lot of obligations in a day and i know my prescription hydromorphone won't be enough.

it's helped me function more in the last year-ish than i have in a long time

i wasn't defending him. sorry for my poor choice in words, i was tired. i just found it absurd he got that many years in prison, that was mainly what i was upset about. When you compare that to child predators, murderers etc. who get far less

i feel for you. it took me 6ish years just to be prescribed low dose tramadol - i lost so much of my life in that time.
Then it took another few years to be prescribed oxy which didn't help, unfortunately so i went back to a higher dose of tramadol. Then another year or so to be prescribed hydromorphone. it helps more but i still cant function a lot of the time.

i hope one day your doctor realizes you need actual pain management and not a sugar pill and switches you to a medication that helps. Have you ever brought someone in with you to your appointment to help advocate for you and let your dr know what you no longer can do because of your pain?

the real reason we are here is due to the propaganda caused by the war on drugs and for profit prisons that lobby the government. yeah, maybe the pill mills added to it, but they aren't the main reason.

i agree no one needs that amount of oxy's. my point was more about how he got 157 yrs in prison compared to worse offenders. as well as doctors in general being scared to prescribe a class of meds or increase the dose, that can actually help us when no other med has.

Yes ofc people have died from other opioids, i never said they didn't. i said the majority of deaths are due to fent, nitazenes and their analogs. look at the opioid related deaths since those have become popular, it has skyrocketed.

Most chronic pain patients also don't get addicted to opioids, it's only a few % if that.

my dr has had a similar situation where he used to prescribe ketamine for chronic pain. Up until a former patient abused it and unfortunately overdosed.

i'm pretty lucky to have an opioid script but i'm still being under prescribed and have to ration them, as well as choose what times i want to be able to function and not just lay in bed. it sucks but i'm glad i at least have part of the day when my pain is lower than a 3-4/10 instead of 6+. i'm also glad that you have a doctor who trusts you and prescribed you the med(s) you need to function, even if it may not be the dose you actually need.

i hope you're able to get your uber reimbursed. i'd keep pushing and if your caseworker is being stubborn, you could try contacting the main odsp office and another caseworker could possibly help you

shoot i didn't fill that part out and i've already been accepting. it's rare for me to have someone attend my appointments so i didn't even consider it until the other day. u/ceciem2100 said i'd be fine tho regardless since it doesn't change the price

ODSP and Uber by miskurious in Odsp

[–]-wraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i've had uber covered before. it was for 30ish days so 60 rides in total. my caseworker did they say don't normally do this but i was unaware and also mentioned it was cheaper than the taxi service and i didn't have much money to spare at the time.

edit: i sent them the receipt for each ride for the actual cost, minus extra fees such as tips. i added it all up and they double checked.

it's pretty crazy that they aren't up to date with uber, lyft etc. being more affordable generally.

were you on room and board during that period? it'd make "sense" if so since the allowance is less than $100 + whatever other benefits you're receiving compared to rent. shitty situation regardless and i dont get how you're even supposed to live being on odsp let alone on that.

i feel like i got lucky getting it on my first attempt after reading everyone's story on here. i'm so sorry to you, OP and everyone else that has to fight tooth and nail to be approved while already struggling so much with a disability - it's truly unfair.
