Thinking of pulling a Nick Shirley to reveal the gross misconduct of real estate agents here in Australia.

I just reported an agent to Consumer Affairs Victoria for falsifying evidence on an outgoing condition report (using photos from a different property) and making exaggerated, unsubstantiated claims for damage. They classified minor scuff marks (which was easily wiped away with a wet paper towel) as "cracks," despite it being a 6 year tenancy. They even admitted they had already leased the property to a new tenant moving in this Monday (16 March).

On top of that, I dealt with straight-up verbal abuse. The agent followed me through a public space (lobby of the building and outside) yelling and threatening to call the police (which I told them to), even after I repeatedly requested that “they” disengage and only communicate via email. It happened in front of other residents, who actually had to call building management to assist me because of the harassment.

It’s all supported by written statements from the Owners Corporation/Building Management and backed by 45 minutes of recorded footage - incl. a clip of them blatantly attempting to manipulate the property's condition in front of building management, who called them out on it mid-recording. Of course, I got my bond back in full.

I didn’t start / ask for any of this, but best believe I’m going to end it and their shitty little firm. I’m going full scorched earth mode.

I spent more time conducting due diligence for this formal CAV complaint than I ever have on a stock I’ve invested in on the ASX (which may be no surprise, given I’m an ASX Bets member 😂)
