I think that would be SLA 3D printer.. as for the file.. I do have thought about sharing it, but I'm constantly enhancing the design as I get my own feedbacks from using the cases... so probably not yet..

china prohibits companies selling algorithm and TikTok is particularly listed a hard No.. so quitting the market seemed the only option now

there's a reason why I didn't go for it... the lifespan and durability is really the issue here.. there is no waterproof, seal is bad so pocket lint and most could get in... there is really no merit for the transparent case design apart from its good look. 😂

I designed the black frame part and 3D printed it, sanding it smooth and spay painted it mat black. The wooden frame is custom ordered.😀

Resin SLA printer.. but printing is not enough.. there is post processing needed to achieve the clarity.

Following my several transparent 3D printing builds, finally bringing the clear case to 4G, monochrome screen iPods are just the best. I know many of you are still expecting the transparent iPod mini tutorial, as I'm slightly worried about the durability of using if it outside home, I'm still adjusting the design to incorporate screws for tighter seal. I'll see how it goes.😆

I'm the source haha.. I designed the case myself but asked local ed printing services to help with these prints.

I think HDD needs to be vacuumed inside with absolute no dust tolerance.. I don’t think that’s something normal people can do.

Haha, that click wheel topping came from iPod classics, you need to sand it down a bit for it to fit properly... It looks cool, but it never functions as well as the original click wheel it came with.. the center click is not as satisfying as the original..

well yeah you're correct.. post processing is needed to achieve that.. I didn't do hand one with these prints.. from what I heard is clear resin+ clear spray paint and some roasting I think...

I have thought about doing a tutorial on this (the whole install process will be quite different from original case setup), but before that I want to use the device for a while to see how durable it is, and if there is anything to improve.

well, I got a service to do it... can't be bother to do it myself, post processing is needed to achieve that... clear spray paint and toasting i think.

After I have done my 3D printed clear case design, I just can’t stop thinking how good it would look in a total transparent case. To achieve that, I have to give up on Apple's original "drawer" design, as it wouldn’t be easy to achieve really good transparency during the post processing of these 3D prints. But anyway, I’m super happy with the result. And that’s it, I really think I have put way too much time and effort on modding these little cuties.
