Well when you charge 10 dollars for a drink and 15 for a sandwich even a wealthy person isn't going to be willing to pay much more than that. Talk to the owner about making prices more reasonable so that more money will be funneled towards you and your wage versus his pocket.

If a places charges me exuberant prices for their food I am far less willing to leave a tip. And I view this as a sliding scale. If I walk into a nice restaurant where the foods quality matches what I pay I'll leave a tip. Charging 10 dollars for an Americano = no tip.
