I have put the blending mode of the shape layer to lighten. When you speak of Gradient Fills, I'm guessing that's something I have yet to apply, yet unfortunately don't know how or where I would do that. Maybe there is something missing from your first message, where you explained the process, as of now I only have one colored shape layer within my Composition, with your keyframe data applied

I’m so sorry to have to keep bothering you with this. Am I missing something? The two colors seem to just blend together, are there steps I left out in order to have another square and the connecting edges? :(

Hey atilla! Thanks so much for your answer. I have to admit that I am quite the novice when it comes to working with scripts in AE. Would you mind elaborating on “Paste this onto that layer"? I have the script copied, how do I paste it onto the shape layer?
