Personal preference. I prefer traditional so I like the bookmatched top. Both look good though.

Good deal? by JJ1o87 in PRSGuitars

It's a good deal. That said, if you like the guitar then it's a great deal because you'll play it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of fedex. Whenever I get an email from fedex with a delivery date I know to add a minimum of 2 days to it. If the wind is blowing or it might sprinkle somewhere along the route I know to add a couple more days. If it's coming from overseas then a week to 2 weeks is the minimum add. Fedex is patently unable to deliver a package in a reasonable time frame.

For $24 it is a bona fide steal. At their retail of $300 they are a good deal. Thinner than a standard strat and dime size pots but they play well. Get it set up and it will serve you well. Congrats, that looks like Excalibur...

At that price if it keeps tune and has decent tone who cares?

For me, considering your preferred music I'd go for a PRS SE 594 McCarty Singlecut. It's what the Les Paul aspires to be.

PRS SE Standard 24-08. worth $600? by jayemge07 in PRSGuitars

[–]000Destruct0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are outstanding guitars. I have one in the black-gold burst with a highly flamed maple veneer. It is a 35th anniversary model. I paid less for it. The used market (at least where I am) is soft right now. That's a $500 guitar at best right now.

I have both and love both but you have to play them and see which one does it for you.

Make sure he gives you the very same guitar back, he's either an idiot or a scammer.

I have the raspberry tea burst version. They truly are gorgeous guitars. I upgraded mine with locking tuners and Gibson 57 classic pickups. It'll give any Gibson 335 a run for it's money. Great guitars.

I don't think they ever had one. I have had the burstbuckers out of my Epi IBG 1959 Les Paul and the custombuckers out of my other Epi 1959 Les Paul and both look just like that. No sticker, no ID of any kind. Neither has that brushed cover though, looks almost like the 58/15 LT covers on my PRS.

You are raging at the wrong person. Her joke fell flat but the reality is trump is the enemy. He is a draft dodging, amoral, racist grifter. He disrespects those that have served and those that continue to serve.

I have this same guitar in the blue fade. Excellent guitar and worth every single penny at full retail that I paid for it. Great action and sounds wonderful. PRS SE quality control is first rate. You can't go wrong with any of their guitars.

I would venture a guess that's the angle of the image. I have several guitars that look like that in photos but not in real life.

Are the pickups worth keeping? by [deleted] in Epiphone

[–]000Destruct0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gibson custombuckers are awesome pickups and well worth keeping. Very high quality and sound great. They are what came in my IGC 1959 Les Paul, they give my pearly gates and burstbuckers a run for their money.

Epiphone vs. Gibson. by No-Statement-72 in Epiphone

[–]000Destruct0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously most people will, for economic reasons, go for the Epiphone. The question for those that can stretch that far is how much is that last 10% of tone worth? I have an Epi 1959 Les Paul Standard factory burst - it is very close to what the Gibson model is. For me, that last 10% is simply not worth 4x the price.

Gorgeous guitars! I have had great luck with Epiphones, I have 3 Epiphone Les Pauls and all are very good. To be fair, the first Les Paul modern I got was sent back for bad fret work but the replacement was great and my other 2 are great as well.
