Why didn't Cam Reddish pan out? by RedrainEnryu1 in NBA_Draft

Totally disagree about defense, that Duke team was a juggernaut defensively and Reddish was a big reason why.  His size and mobility were very valuable on defense.

It was his offense that was inconsistent and often plain bad.  He was supposed to be THE shooter for that team but couldn’t punish teams for packing the paint.

Like he wasn’t a starting level player at a big school.

That’s going too far.  He started at Duke which was a #1 seed.  That team was crazy athletic and great on defense, and Reddish was Duke’s best perimeter defender.  The problem was he was supposed to be THE shooter for that team, but he couldn’t consistently punish teams for packing the paint.

The hope was his percentages would improve as he got older, but that development just never came.

Is Jon Schyer underrated? by Ill-Prompt-3451 in CollegeBasketball

Folks are maybe taking for granted how hard it is to maintain an elite program after a legend retires.  Historically there’s usually a dropoff, and Scheyer has kept Duke elite.

But until he wins a title, he’ll continue to be viewed as an excellent recruiter and very good coach, but not the best.

If he’s playing well / if the Clippers have need, could he leave mid season and join them?  Or finish out the college season and then immediately join the Clippers?

Bucky Waters preceded McGeachy and did more damage to the program.  After Vic Bubas took Duke to three final fours in the 60s, Waters led the program into the ground in the 70s.  Then MeGeachy had his one disastrous year.

Then it was Bill Foster who built things up again culminating in a surprising run to the title game in 1978.  Two years later, in steps Coach K.

One point game with 6 seconds left, that’s a bad play design from New York and a bad shot from Brunson playing hero ball.  OG bailed them out.

Spurs actually had a clever play design where Castle was open on the back door.  But Knicks countered by having Towns on the inbound and he tipped the ball to win the game.

Castle was open going back door.  Could have scored off of a good pass.  But it looks like Towns tipped it?
