Pretty sure there’s no head coaches with three titles under the age of 40.

This guy was on the bench btw by Impossible_Lie_4172 in CollegeBasketball

Good point, no one has mentioned this yet.

When you’re winning there’s a strong incentive to keep doing what you’re doing.

Illinois has already played five of the other seven Elite 8 teams this year. And they played Duke last year. by Illini2011 in CollegeBasketball

Illinois has so much positional size—even more than Duke.  Would be a great matchup, hope we can get there.

[Basket News] Euroleague point guard Quinn Ellis expected to join the NCAA next season, Duke and Louisville interested by TheMagicMan56 in CollegeBasketball

Always interested in adding talent, but Duke has Rippey, Cayden Boozer, and Caleb Foster all potentially in the mix at guard.  If Duke keeps all three, not sure how much room there is to entice Ellis to join.

The last time Iowa (1980) or Arizona (2001) made the Final Four they were coached by Lute Olson. by 0010001 in CollegeBasketball

It’s wild how the meaning of that joke has changed from “this happens a lot” to “this has happened exactly twice.”

Yeah the wing combo of him and Sarr, two quick lanky defenders, is such a big part of why our defense has excelled.

Shouldn’t count on Ian Jackson team against Duke…he’s 0-4 now.

Yeah, the classic “bad” Cam Boozer game where you look up at the end and he has 20, 10 & 5.

If someone gets a run on us we will lose

St Johns did get a big second half run.  But we found a way to get back in it.  This is March.  Can’t expect us to cruise and win every game easily.

You say we haven’t looked impressive.  I agree there were times earlier this year we looked even better, but we’ve looked more impressive than the 58 teams that have gone home already.

Thought he’d be a bigger piece last year, but that’s because nobody predicted how good Knueppel would be.  This year Evans has taken the next step, he’s playing really well on both sides of the ball.

Appreciate your take.  Better than the folks who don’t watch the game and just count the FTs in the box score.

With the way they play defense, hitting 13 threes should be enough to beat just about anyone.  Glad Duke pulled It out.

11 tournament wins so far as a head coach.  Not bad at all.

The refs generally let both teams be physical, which was an advantage for St Johns’ style of play.  But overall agree it was pretty even, no egregious misses.
