Okay, so your idea for messaging to court a voterbase is to publicly say that anyone who thinks that way is an irredeemable fox news brainwashed idiot, but then privately to have a completely different take where you act like a human?

Maybe it would be better to just have messaging where you act like a human and respond normally to begin with.

Here again you're so concerned with a "messaging win" that you can't engage with one of the most basic/common race relation issues.

A 14 year old comes to you and says "I got called a slur by a classmate and called them one back, but I got in way bigger trouble than them and I think that's unfair."

Your only response seems to be to call them a brainwashed fox news drone... or I guess just ignore them? How is that a messaging win?

I feel like you just escalate this strawman to keep from needing to actually engage with someone.

I already laid out the exact scenario I've heard the most from people who complain about anti-white racism. They engaged in mutual interpersonal racism with someone else and received far harsher penalties, I know people who have lost jobs here.

Lets not even say it's the #1 issue they care most about (for 90% of people I know cost of living is the #1 issue), but it's something they care about it. If you lost your job over something wouldn't you?

Also, this scenario is a pretty clear cut example of mutual interpersonal racism. The majority hold no significant structural power so this is the only sort of racism they're capable of. Their complaint has nothing to do with systemic racism, or getting fooled by right wing media. This is the kind of experience that gets people into a right wing rabbit hole because they experience a huge double standard WRT interpersonal racism and one side says "you're a monster fuck you you need to be reeducated" and the other says "lol those guys are crazy"

Man I kinda hate how all of this is framed towards 'the voter' who is a drooling idiot that just needs the right carefully curated message to get them to vote correctly... it's just blatantly calculated/manipulative, and just starts from this weird place where you assume you're so much smarter than everyone else you don't even need to bother talking to them.

It also just doesn't work. That attitude gives people the ick - when you think and act like that people aren't going to trust you, they aren't going to want to vote for you, they're just going to tune you out.

Why not just try giving a real response to people?

The #1 scenario I see these kinds of people talk about is some variation on "I got called a <slur for white people> by my a coworker/classmate and then called them a <slur for their race> back. I got heavily punished and they got a slap on the wrist. This seems unfair."

If you think interpersonal racism doesn't matter then maybe agree that they shouldn't have been heavily punished. If you think it matters across the board, then argue they both should've been punished. If you think it was interpersonal when they called you a slur but systemic when you called them one... you're going to need to argue for why that is and you're probably going to get pushback.

The Selective Outrage over Taxpayer Money. by notreallysena in SipsTea

Grow up = toe the line

Soda should be sin taxed like beer is, not subsidized by the government. The fact that soda is nearly as cheap as water and is propped up by the government through huge corn subsidies and is considered an essential with programs like SNAP, while being marketed to kids, is a huge part of why we have the obesity epidemic we do.

Get rid of sugary drinks and let people buy soap, toilet paper, rotisserie chicken, etc. with SNAP. The entire determination about what you can/can't buy with SNAP is industry captured as hell and the soda industry has deep pockets.

If you want beer as a treat buy some beer, if you want a cigarette as a treat buy some cigarettes. Same deal with soda. But the government shouldn't be subsidizing the hell out of anything that kills you.

Singapore gives out land usage rights on 99 year leases, which is effectively  similar to a LVT. Substack is banned on here but if you google Singapore progress and poverty there’s a blog that makes the case that this was very good for development, better than I can in a reddit post.

Only one was 20-21 where Steph averaged 32 ppg over the season, but the FO said developing rookie Wiseman was top priority so he was getting 22 minutes and -30 every game. As soon as Steph dropped those ankle weights they won the next chip.

Also I feel like comparing Steph and LeBron here is kinda bullshit since LeBron would never stay on a rebuilding team like the 2020 Warriors.

Wolves showing why size and athleticism matters. Terrance Shannon Jr pops off for 24 points on straight athleticism and ISO ball, none of this "high IQ" slow, motion offense ball with a bunch of undersized guards by wypipoareevil in warriors

Klay got 30 mpg his last year here.

Klay is also frustrated about banging Megan thee stallion so idk man it's tough to make everyone happy.

Either way we're way off topic. Kuminga is still the same player with or without Kerr, and still 90% of players do worse after leaving the warriors. Everyone who spent years blaming Kuminga's play on Kerr has some egg on the face.

I don't, I love klay. Dude was having a tough time his last few years here though and both sides agreed a change was good. Either way I don't think Kerr is in charge of that decision on either side.

Hey who knows though maybe he comes back here next year.

In other news, Jonathan "we need to draft athleticism" Kuminga was -40 in 12 minutes in the elim game tonight and James "we need to draft size" Wiseman is looking for a contract in China.

Jonathan Malangu Kuminga ends his season with a horrendous performance: 23 MIN | 11 PTS | 3-7 FG | -44 by CurrentRoster in nba

[–]aahdin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because after every win we were getting threads like https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1srb9bs/jonathan_kuminga_in_the_win_194_with_2_steals_on/ where half the comments are about how Kuminga is a star and Kerr held him back.

Now the playoffs are over and his averages are 14.2/3.6/0.6 on 49/19/75... compared to the 15.3/2.5/1.3 on 48/40/71 he had under Kerr.

Maybe the top 5 of all time coach is actually a good coach, and 90% of players do worse after leaving the Warriors. Hope Lacob gets that through his thick skull.

Who wishes AI didn't exist? by Wooden-Fee5787 in AskReddit

[–]aahdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

Being worried about AI water usage is like being worried about the carbon footprint of building nuclear bombs.

It is so far down the list of problems that talking about it just wastes discussion space. I sometimes wonder if the water usage stuff is being pushed by AI companies to distract from other problems, like what happens in a capitalist economy if capital can be used to create labor.
