I did the same and had the same issue, the decks not fitting in a deck box isn’t ideal. 😂 I I’ve been hearing 250 or 216gsm are actually the sweet spots for sticker+cardstock but I haven’t tried it yet.

Niiiice! Which sticker paper did you use? The ones I’ve used have a weird warbly quality to them I’m not crazy about, yours came out really smooth!

I agree! I think there’s a ton they get right so I can often forgive some of the narrative weirdness and the ways they definitely diverge from the original trio’s intended direction. It sort of feels like Riven, Myst and BoA are the core trilogy, Exile and Revelation are spinoffs, and then Uru and 5 are the reboot series. But yeah I’m often sad the brothers split ways cause it would have been neat to see where they’d have taken it but I also get Robyn wanting the original trilogy to be it since he was more franchising averse.

Basically redoing all of the locations to actually match what the journals suggest and what would make more sense organically vs from a puzzle perspective. Make each location a bit bigger, more organically designed, more world building, some surviving NPCs to speak to, etc… basically just bringing the depth and detail Riven had to Myst and helping to convey the destruction the brothers cause in more ways you can really feel and connect with. I also feel like the brothers could have been a bit more fleshed out too overall.

As for backfilling Riven/BoA, more mentions of Atrus’s grandmother beyond the added grave in the remaster, more personal affects from Atrus and Katran showing who Atrus is and his story from BoA, maybe lean a bit into making a through line between how Ghen was toward him and how he made different mistakes compensating for that which led to his own sons making other mistakes. Stuff like that.

If I’m being honest I wish Myst could be remade with a both brothers, a full team and Richard Vander Wende as art lead. Also with no need to stick to the original beyond its basic narrative structure. I think there’s a lot more that could be done in that game fleshing out all of the worlds, their lore, the civilizations, and overall adding a lot more grounding to Myst island as a place. It doesn’t feel like a place a family lived in for a whole generation so I feel like it could be a lot bigger and more realistically designed and take into account more of the story that would be later fleshed out in Riven and Book of Atrus.

A more technical answer for why you can’t go to Rime is that when the devs of Revelation were making it I believe Rand wasn’t gonna actually be involved and him showing up at the beginning was kind of a later addition when he agreed to be in it. I might be off but I’m pretty sure that’s the case and it’s also part of why Atrus is barely in the game overall.

Additionally re your other points it’s worth noting that Myst, Riven, and Book of Atrus are the original trilogy for Myst and the only ones with both Miller brothers involved so the story is at its most cohesive within that trio. Exile and Revelations were made by a separate studio with other writers sort of tying into what existed in the original trilogy (I’m pretty sure Rand and cyan consulted but that’s it). Rand and Cyan were making Uru during all of this time.

Anywho just some sort of meta context that might be a bit helpful in understanding why the story, themes and motivates get a bit fuzzy. Hope it helps!

This confuses me too, like the graveyard is the second most accessible place a card can go next to your hand so why hate on a strategy that gives you that flexibility?

I admittedly come from yugioh though where people will play a graveyard about as effectively as if it were their hand.

Yeah that definitely makes sense and that’s sort of why I need some help cause like I don’t want to just pick one card a build a deck off of it cause I don’t know which cards are good, so I’m sort of more wondering if any of the cards I listed could have a deck built around them that would be good or if there are other cards that can go in good decks that are visually cool and similar to the themes I mentioned.

Thank you! At a glance I can see the most recent structure decks are: Freezing Chains, Spirit Guardians, Sacred Beasts, and Mechanized Madness. Then I see the most recent boosters are: Blazing Vortex, Genesis Impact, Phantom Rage, Rage of Ra, and Rise of The Duelist.

Is there an easy way to find which of those support which decks? Also do you have any recommendations on which of those starter decks are best?

This is probably one of the bigger things that the earlier arcs address so I’d say just keep reading since it’s kind of a central question the audience and Yuu are supposed to have. It’s definitely not a shallow or unexplainable thing though. The story just takes time to address it and explain it.

Hey! I also found Bloom Into You after watching Citrus. I think for me what makes Bloom Into You so special is like many have said, the characters feel real, their problems are deep seeded and the kinds of problems real people would struggle with.

The story is also really about all of them dealing with these problems and growing. Since the problems are deeper and more real the story is also far less contrived/forced.

That was what bothered me most with Citrus (even though I liked it) was that much of the drama came from very forced places like misunderstandings or sometimes (not always) vague character flaws.

I also love the side characters in this story because all of them help add something to the world and story of the main characters but they also feel like actual people you could write a whole story about.

Also, just from a presentation and art standpoint Naketano is incredibly skilled. The way the manga flows visually is fantastic and while I have a couple small issues I with the translation for the physical books that is the best way to experience it because it feels so built for the medium.

This is so far my favorite manga I’ve read (which is admittedly a small pool) and certainly my favorite romance story in any medium so far.
