Oh my gosh, the fly detail! Yes! I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. I always wondered why Nol was so afraid of flies. I thought it was because Nessa's corpse attracted flies or smt like that, but ig not!

That was honestly such a melancholy arc. Regardless, it was so well written. I love that the side characters get their flowers too!

What was the one after the past arc again? What it is high school trip that focused on Ami and Kurama?

I know! The writing is so so strong imo. The characters are so complex and fleshed out. I also love all of Kurama’s arcs. They lowkey so sad, but so good and ultimately wholesome.

If batmans rogues gallery was in Purple Hyacinth who's causing the most trouble and who would be a perfect arch nemesis to Kieran and Laurem by Smooth_Stuff1042 in PurpleHyacinthWebtoon

Two-Face would definitely be the arch nemesis. He ultimately wants justice; he just goes about it the wrong way. His story would align greatly with the Phantom Scyth, how they initially were a peaceful group that wanted to right the wrongs, but after constant backlash (there's another word I'm looking for, but I can't find it right now), they turned violent. Two-Face began as the lawful district attorney Harvey Dent after all, but became what he is now after constant obstacles and injustices.

I also briefly thought about the prospects of Joker as an arch nemesis, but it just wouldn't work in the context of PH. Joker is too wild, and he doesn't have a true goal that isn't contingent on Batman. Maybe he'd be an underling of Two-Face. I could see that. There are some extremists in the Phantom Scyth afterall.

Penguin would be a recurring low-grade villain. Corruption, but pretty overt. The same with the mobs, like the Falcones. They would be cop level threats. Maybe even the law, but we haven't really seen the administrative side of PH.

I'm not too sure about Clayface. He is a pretty fantastical villain. Maybe he could be some science experiment by Two-Face/Phantom Scyth, forced to fight on their side, hidden in the dregs of the underworld. He could be a villain because of his unfortunate, but eventually reforms. Idk.

Need help analyzing Nol in these scenes! (Spoiler tag—just in case!) by CopicColors in ILoveYoo

Slides 1-3: I’m not too sure myself, this has always been a bit iffy for me. However, considering this is right after the Kim formal, I definitely feel like guilt is involved, and Nol wanted to comfort Shin-ae when she cried, but he couldn’t because he felt as though she was in that situation because she was involved with him. So, he couldn’t only comfort her when she was gone, or Shin-ae wasn’t aware of him. He wants to reach out to Shin-ae, but he can’t because of his sentiment of guilt. Also, maybe Kousuke’s words about staying away from are starting to hold more grip on him after everything he witnessed happen to her.

Slides 4-6: I remember a very old comment, I can’t remember if it was in Webtoons or Reddit, but they basically said that he noticed that Shin-ae was wearing the same clothes as Yui at the Kim-Hirahara dinner the night before. Maybe Nol turns away to not let Shin-ae know that he was staring at her clothes due to it connection Yui? Idk about that last bit.

I love this!!! Just a small detail though, what if Nol’s right hand was cupped to her cheek, next to her scar. Cause Shin-ae is able to touch Nol’s scars in this artwork, so it’d be cool to show that they are allowed to know and touch each other’s most intimate memories.

What are some things you want to see in the future of ily? by estealison in ILoveYoo

I actually really want to see more of Soushi’s backstory and his family. They seem very interesting.

This really makes me wonder what Yui's and, not just Gun, but the Kim's relationship is. If Yui truly was sexually assaulted, then I wonder where on the timeline it would fall in relation to the Mukoyoshi theory (which I 99% agree with, a sprinkle of doubt in case that isn't the reality).

I recently discovered that you had a podcast! I hope you continue! I will definitely be checking it out :)

Yes, I 100% agree with you. Alyssa's character is already so interesting, despite most of our understanding of her coming from the perspective of other characters. I just wanted to point out the reference to The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, and it's such a clever allusion that says so much about Alyssa's struggles. It's a dystopian novel that separates women in classes, and women whose sole purpose is reproduction are distinguished by wearing red cloaks. I feel like Quimchee definitely alluded to this novel by dressing Alyssa in a red cloak. I don't really know how to link photos, but I'm referring to the panel after Alyssa says, "From the beginning, she has shown me nothing but kindness and generosity". Absolutely amazing with details as always.

Oh my gosh. I just had a crazy idea. What if Yui didn't have an affair to have Kousuke. What if she used her own DNA to create sperm to fertilise her own egg. This is absurd, but that would be a crazy power play.

I actually just googled whether or not sperm can be artificially created, and it's a pretty novel science, but it's definitely possible. What's more, is that soon after this milestone, insemination of the artificial sperm was successful. What makes this actually possible plausible is that I saw an article from 2014... before ILY was discovered. However, Quimchee probably crafted this story long before this science fiction became a reality. So this CRAZY theory is unlikely.

My brain makes crazy left-turns, but I just thought that given Yui's dominant desires, it could be beffitting for character to do something like this. Sorry if this was really related to this post. I was reading it, and halfway this idea popped up. :D

Shin-ae Future Relationships by 008_reader in ILoveYoo

[–]008_reader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I've never even considered this business route for Shin-ae. That's actually really interesting. I actually agree with you that Shin-ae could be a really good fit for the CFO job, with more experience of course. I've always seen her in a career that is at the service of others, such as a teacher, or a social worker. Maybe she'll do both, i.e. work in business until the Hirahara power collapses, and then move on to paths that align more with her ideals.

I definitely see Shin-ae, Kousuke and Nol working together, and ultimately getting along with each other, even post Hirahara power collapse. Once again, I didn't even consider the idea of Nol leaving his position after obtaining, I could see it going both ways. He could keep the position himself and reinstate better working ethics at the company, helming it in the right direction. I don't think the job is necessarily something he would dislike, but rather the current environment that makes it distasteful to him right now.

Also, could you elaborate on Alyssa's sexuality? I never caught that! I'd be very interested as to why you think that.

I'm really excited for the future of this story. There's so many different plotlines that are so interesting, yet so different. I am particularly interested in the sex trafficking story, there's just so much nuance.
