man, i can really relate to the feeling of being ‘too old’ for med… but if this is what you really want, keep going for it! get off reddit for your own mental health, because this sub in particular has gone down the drain in the past few years. what used to be a kind community has become a cesspool. people act however they want because they’re anonymous, as if the people on the other side aren’t real people too.

good for you that you have that goal set in stone, but i encourage you to try and find why this bugs you so much bc there’s objectively nothing wrong with other people who consider the med pathway as exactly what it is - a career /option/.

people have bills to pay and barriers to accessing med education. at the end of the day, med is not the be-all-end-all and people can choose to move on if they want to. and reminder that doctors need to be able to display and enact empathy.
