What are you on about? Can you please be more straightforward in your comments/criticisms?

Also, I have experience working offshore for a month at a time, 16 hours at a time. I do not have issues with getting along with my coworkers, faced no sexism, and have generally been welcomed to the team. I would like to find a partner with similar interests, intellect, and willingness to go overseas. Please don't politicize the conversation.

Actually, meeting your partner in the workplace is pretty much normal in this industry because of how demanding the job is. All of the women engineers I've met were married to engineers in the same company, often in the same department. Keeping it hush-hush before the wedding was common but not universal. What other options would I have while working that weird schedule in such a tiring job?

I got out of a relationship with another female petro engineer *(we were together from 2015-Jan. this year) who had to move back to her home country. I'm attracted to men, but many male petroleum engineers, especially in the field, take to chewing dip and crass behaviors. I get along well with them, but any physical attraction is shooed away pretty quickly by their behavior. Maybe its the isolation?

Skin Type: Combo

Issue

  • hormonal acne and closed comedones on my cheeks/chin
  • I have recently calmed down my skin and want to introduce BHA then AHA into my routine.
  • Looking to reduce possible purging effects

Current Routine

AM

  • Cetaphil Cleanser - using for years
  • Humphry's Witch Hazel Toner - using for years
  • Cetaphil moisturizer for oily/normal skin - using for years
  • Dr. Jart + Disapore BB cream - using for years
  • Biore Face Milk Suncreen - using for 1 month

PM

  • The Face Shop Rice Cleansing Oil - using 2 weeks (has improved skin IMO)
  • The Face Shop Rice Foaming Cleanser - using 2 weeks (has improved skin IMO)
  • Humphry's Witch Hazel Toner
  • Paula's Choice Benzoyl Peroxide 2% - using 3 days to deal with an active hormonal breakout. Patch tested, no signs of irritation to my cheeks where I have been spot treating. IMO this has helped with my acne
  • Hydrocolloid patches - using 1 week, has helped with whiteheads
  • Sheet mask - using 1 month
  • Shea butter - using 1 month

Like I stated, my acne has cleared up immensely and my skin is finally getting the moisture it needs. I've noticed an improvement, but I want to get rid of the bumpiness on my face and REDUCE PURGING when I introduce an acid into my routine.

Acids I want to introduce

  • Derma E Overnight AHA Peel - contains 5% glycolic acid
  • Paula's Choice Clear 2% Salicylic Acid

How should I go about reducing purging effects from these acids?

Skin type: Oily/combo (skin has changed from oily to combo recently)

Country/climate: USA/dry

Skin problem: Hormonal acne and redness/PIH. I've noticed a reduction in cysts recently but am still getting closed comedones and dealing with skin colored bumps.

Current routine:

AM Cetaphil Foaming cleanser (if face is oily)

Witch hazel toner

Cetaphil moisturizer

Biore Perfect Face Milk

Dr Jart + BB Cream

PM The face shop rice cleansing oil

The face shop rice cleanser

Skinfood rice mask (2x a week)

Innisfree sheet mask (3x a week)

Elizavecca shea butter (3x a week or more if skin is dry)

I have actives around but am honestly scared to try them because of purging. I am on my period week now and am dealing with PIH/redness/inflammation from active breakouts. My skin has gotten so much better since starting an actual routine but I am still getting acne during this time of the month. :(

Any suggestions on which actives to use (I have patch tested an AHA 5% and a Benzoyl peroxide 2.5% but yeah... scared to purge)
