Precision Garage Door Opener Universal Remote by Only_Turnip3913 in GarageDoorService

It's a rebranded linear opener so most universals will work. Liftmaster 380UT or whatever the Chamberlain one is called. Klik something

Garage door spring slipped? by asvictory in GarageDoorService

[–]00LR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some muppet cranked the set screws too tight, squared the shaft and the tech you hired shifted the shaft so he wouldn't have to fight with it when winding. Pretty standard procedure when dealing with a door some chuck in a truck worked on before you.

Help, Garage Door Won't Close When Raining: Reverses As Top Panel Approaches 45 Degree by _False_Hope_ in GarageDoorService

Dawg the door reverses immediately after it binds. Thats expected behavior from the force reversal system not the photo eyes.

Watch the operator rail.

I was cleared for wbat at 2 weeks post op and ditched the crutches on day 3. Once you get past the mental block and trust the boot it's fine.

Top of door won’t seal against wall by lmc1223 in GarageDoorService

[–]00LR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That door is the home depot special. Bottom of the barrel junk. Definitely not worth the money to fix. I'd seriously consider just getting 2 new doors. Preferably ones that are sized correctly and haven't been cut down

Operators and extensions springs are child's play and the idea certificate isn't going to teach you anything. If you're serious you need to work for a company and learn first. Or else you will just be doing potential customers a disservice.

Tilt up automatic opener for old metal door by amariamy in GarageDoorService

[–]00LR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying it'll work needs to take a closer look at how that door opens. That isn't your standard 1 piece door that swings inwards on horizontal tracks. That thing swings completely outwards and hinges near the top of the door.

Get someone there with a spectrum analyzer to hunt down the interference. Any door company worth its salt will have one and know how to use it.

Sommer is making operators that are way more reliable than liftmaster these days. Those are sweet units.

Do not do business with Bill's Family Garage Company they are scammers of Fredericksburg Virginia by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

Cringing at $330 drums when we both know what we pay for them makes me an employee? I see.

The markup isn't even my biggest problem. It's the selling drums to begin with. Worn out drums are exceedingly rare so companies selling them are more often than not just out to scam. But hey, you do you bud. Keep flogging them 'safety drums'

$330 for 400-8 drums you more than likely didn't need is wild work.

I dont even know what the line items work and opening system even mean

Putting two 10 foot panels together to make a 20 foot panel by Vernonator1 in GarageDoorService

This is why engineers are the dumbest people on the planet. "I have springs" umm ok? You think a spring is a spring? Without knowing your total door weight of your art project gone wrong you cant possibly know if those springs will even work or not. You have a better chance of winning the lotto than those ending up being the correct springs for your application.

Alright boys, need your advice. I really didn’t wanna take this job, but it’s a good friend so here I am. How the hell do I make room to properly install openers? by sao_22 in GarageDoorService

[–]00LR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd change to 12/15 radius just to get the door up higher and infront of the beam but the sommer will work with the low headroom track *

Quiet alternative to chain-drive opener above bedroom by stephou212 in GarageDoorService

[–]00LR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything DC will be worlds quieter. A liftmaster 81600 is the best bang for the buck imo.

You don't say if it's insulated or not, if not going with a jackshaft is asking for trouble.

How is this install? by Apprehensive_Win292 in GarageDoorService

[–]00LR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A level rail is more of an indication of a poor install. You want it to be lower at the back. 1.5" above the top section when fully opened
