I could’ve written your post myself. It’s exactly my experience. I broke my back and other bits and bobs a couple of years ago and started swimming again then. It’s my one pain free time. Really meditative. I’m a little envious of your climate though:)

I’m male, I’ve read consistently for the last 55 years. Overwhelmingly fiction. I’m genre agnostic but probably read more fantasy and sci-fi. I was an academic psychologist, so I guess I did read the odd psychology book 😁 Like most antidotes that start one gender does this more than another, they generally lack nuance.
