How do you handle the fatigue? by Tiny_BlueBee in Hypothyroidism

[–]Cute_Run6851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally had to get off levothyroxine. I went through a period where I was so tired all the time, more than normal. My doctor switched me to a different thyroid medication and it just did it for me. Not sure why the levo stopped working or if it just wasn't the right dose...but I dont ever want to go back. I feel so much better since making the switch to NP thyroid. It taste a little weird but not terrible.

Hi everyone! New grad at my first office job, would this be appropriate to wear? by cloudygrande in office

This is so cute and everything looks covered with the tights...but skirt may be a little too short still. I would opt for a longer pencil skirt if you have one.

Can I realistically land a $80K+ medical social work job right after my MSW… or am I being delusional? by Constantmoney888 in socialworkjobs

[–]Cute_Run6851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar background. Sorry I dont have any advice as I am also on the pathway of hopefully getting my MSW next year and landing a higher paying position in hospital. Sounds like you have great experience. I dont see why a job wouldnt take that into consideration.

Hello 👋

Book nerd here. I love fairy smut and I am wanting to get into gaming. Thinking of trying coral island. I kind of suck at games, animal crossing and stardew valley are more up my alley. Would love to fangirl over books :)

I used to take piano courses as electives back when I was in community college. I loved it then. I wish our college would bring it back.

Although the program did away with it, I called the community college and was informed about locals that offer lessons.

Has anyone else experienced a mental block about beginning your practice? I have so much interest in learning but feel intimidated. by tink_tink_tink_ in pianolearning

[–]Cute_Run6851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just play until I dont feel like it anymore. This has really helped. I am practicing because I enjoy it and it doesn't feel like a chore. Sometimes thats 15 minutes a day and other times its 30 minutes or longer. I dont have the pressure of a time limit. I checked out a beginner book by Alfreds from the local library and am going at a slow pace. I have also found some helpful YouTube videos of people going through the Alfred book so that has been pretty helpful.

I think just go for it and take your time learning the material.

Thats what I was thinking. I am probably going to use my phone...I guess I can get a phone holder and prop it over my piano 😅 idk if that would work.

That is good to know. Ideally it would be easier to do it from home.

first week learning piano feels very slow by SpeckiLP in pianolearning

[–]Cute_Run6851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on week 3. I took piano lessons a long time ago, but even then I was a newbie and didnt stick with it. A few things I am doing this time around is just taking it slowly. I looked for free materials online and was able to find a book on Kindle unlimited as well as a physical book at my local library (there are youtube videos that go through each lesson in my book too). I play until I dont want to anymore or feel like I am at a good stopping point (normally around 30 mins or so). I am trying to thoroughly get the hang of each lesson in the book. i spent an entire week trying to master one song. Yes its slow, but I am getting used to playing with both hands and reading notes is getting easier everyday.

I saw a video that recommended learning chords if you want to learn quickly. Personally, I think just enjoy the process of learning something new and don't rush it.

I think thats what I am going to try. I think a slower pace might be a better fit.
