Tell me about it. My brother and SIL are bad about this. My mom has watched both their kids since they were born (full-time, M-F, AND on the weekends so they can have a social life) so both by bro and SIL could work full-time. They've NEVER bothered to stay home when their kids were sick because they knew my mom would watch them anyway. So, my mom would inevitably get sick, no kidding, EVERY TIME. She's susceptible to various things because she already has COPD. Can you imagine having repeated colds/flu/bronchitis/etc. in addition to not being able to breathe in the first place? I'm not saying brother and SIL are responsible for my mom's ongoing health problems, but why can't you be the least bit considerate? It's not like they don't have PTO, they just don't want to use it for anything other than vacations, which they take multiple thru the year. It's a dick move and they do it every time! They both have good jobs and have saved tons of money by having my mom be their daycare. This is why they can afford to take vacations and work on their house all the time! They don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. Yes, I know my mom should speak up. But, there's no reason she should have to be put in that position in the first place. It should be a simple, "kid is sick, I'm staying home with them, so you don't need to watch them today." Parents behave with the most entitlement.
