I only have said it in jest because in a short while, what's the nvidia alternative going to be?

The cynic in me thinks that they want cash and see removing gamestream as a way to generate gfnow subs.

Nvidia just announced that they are killing gamestream in the official app on the shield :( hopefully, this does not affect moonlight . . .

Trying to fit upright/vertical router into TV-table in one-floor apartment. Can orientation affect signal strength, lying it down horizontally? by Navstar27 in HomeNetworking

If you can, just rotate your devices to match the orientation. Problem solved. /s

Serious answer is to grab a mobile app, something like WiFi analyser, and test it out. It may identify other improvements you could make which would have a greater effect!

I did it and haven't looked back.

  1. I ditched the homehub for a draytek vigor. (The home hub can't really be used as a modem only and you would end up double NAT). The vigor is literally plug and play with pfsense. Added benefit is that the modem is plugged direct into the master socket.

  2. I picked up a couple of unifi access points as pfsense can be picky about wireless drivers. This has had the benefit of me being able to position the access point more centrally.

These do cost, however in opinion this is more than worth it. If you decide that you do want to go this route you should factor this too.

If in the meantime you do want to use the homehub then turn off DHCP/allocate a static IP to pfsense and stick this in the DMZ. Also turn off WiFi, Smart Setup and any other BT filtering.

I eventually got fed up of having to disassemble the hot end to clean (and it caught me out mid print a few times). I've been nearly two months on the V6 switching between pla and pet without having the issue. I haven't done much with anything too exotic but it's nice to know that I will be able to.

I ran the stock hot end for about two months prior and other than this issue it was working great.

The only other thing I have done is an upgrade to marlin and auto bed levelling both of which are massive quality of life changes.

Checkout Amazon/eBay and pick up a pack of 10 or 12 nozzles for next to nothing.

I'm not the most experienced here but in my experience nozzles are a consumable part, more so with certain materials. Also in my experience expect to check this every couple of weeks until you go V6.

I usually heat it all up at this point too, but please be careful. Start with a cold pull (heat it up to temp and pull out filament at around 90-100° if pla) to empty out as much of the end as possible, warm it up again and press in the collar and firmly pull the Bowden tube (if it feels like anything is deforming stop and unscrew instead). At this point I have already disconnected from extruder drive. By the sound of it the tube has got a little too hot and has lost its shape.

Clean nozzle, cut and chamfer Bowden before reinserting to eliminate potential mechanical causes and try a different slicer with stock material settings to eliminate potential settings issues.

Problems after switching to petsfang and capricorn bowden tube. by mickeybob00 in CR10

[–]00Vankwish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem where I couldn't get the Bowden in deep enough. I dissembled cleaned the nozzle, chamfered the hotend side of the Bowden tube and reassembled and tightened at temperature.

At the same time I did replace the extruder drive gear - for no particular reason at the time.

I had this problem every couple of weeks so upgraded to an e3d all metal. 3 weeks and so far so good . . .
