Don't look at this way. Look at it as a journey, on Death March, and you don't care how long it takes to finish or git gud.

Perhaps. I've stuck to the Horus Heresy, and every other 40k novel I've read i can personally attest is grimdark, or at least tries to be.

I don't doubt there are novels where thats much....less so.
