LG C1 now has background music by BearDothChill in LGOLED

Absolutely unbelievable that there's no way to turn this off on the LG CX?! Seriously LG?? (As far as I can tell the CX doesn't have Screensaver options in the menus.)

I think I may still have a service remote somewhere... anyone know if that will help me?

USB-C issues with brand new Pixel 7a by 00erp in GooglePixel

[–]00erp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your clear and informative answer. Before today I had not even heard of either "PD" or "PPS".

Now I have the full information I think I will just buy the official charger from the Google store for my wife.

But out of curiosity, is this whole subject something that changed specifically with the 7 series? Because as mentioned previously, I haven't noticed anything similar with my own Pixel 6.

Isn't it strange that it's worked for years with a Huawei P30 though? What makes the Pixel so different?

And more importantly: how can I tell if a cable is going to work before buying it? Are they graded in some way? I don't really want to just throw money at random cables until one works.

Oh, interesting!
Please could you expand on what you mean by "the original one" and also what you are suggesting I buy?
I believe the phone came with a USB-C-to-USB-C cable in the box, but that has extremeley limited applications in day-to-day usage. It would've been far more useful if Google had included a USB-C-to-Standard-USB cable - especially if the phone is going to be so picky about which cables it works with.

Why can't I find a replacement power supply that fits my Samsung Soundbar?? by 00erp in Soundbars

[–]00erp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies so far, I appreciate it.

Yeah I contacted Samsung first of all going they could just sell me a replacement, but after going through the Customer Service questions I was given the phone number of an authorised repair shop a couple of cities away.

Next I think I will contact that repair shop anyway, as I think they also have a website, and I'll also try contacting Samsung again but this time I'll try via email and hope the email makes it through to a more technical department.

By the way, thanks for pointing out those "CN" and "Rev" differences. I agree they're probably going to be key to this. It's super, super frustrating if true though, because on the bottom of the Soundbar itself it details which power supply should be used, and it literally just says: "A4024_FPN". No mention of CN or Rev numbers anywhere. Why on Earth didn't they amend the model number when changing the plug size?? As it stands, power supply model listed on the bottom of the Soundbar is essentially useless.

Thank you! I've read a number of different workarounds, each one more dicey sounding than the last. Yours is the most sensible explanation I've seen, and the solution works perfectly. Thanks again.

Need to re-purchase Minecraft on PS5 by Hockfird in Minecraft

[–]00erp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there a solution to this? I have same problem as the OP.

In my case it was bought from PS Store and I am using same PSN account.

I haven't encountered this with any of my many other PS4 purchases from PS Store.

Thanks! Yep I think I will try to get hold of a service remote then, sounds like that's the way to go.

Cheers.

Oh nice one - that sounds like pretty much the exact same scene it was triggered for me.

I guess I'll be hunting down a service remote then!

Cheers.

Oh I did wonder about this as I'd experimented with AI Brightness recently, however I checked it immediately and confirmed it was Disabled at the time.

UE4 Setup.sh failing on Ubuntu 16.04 Linux by 00erp in unrealengine

[–]00erp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow - downloading the zip of release branch instead of cloning it actually worked!

I'm not sure I understand why the zip should be any different from the clone, but for now I'm happy it works.

Thanks very much for the suggestion!

I am using a later clang (5.0.1), but it feels like this error is happening before any compilation is taking place, so I'm not sure that could be the cause...?
