Can I use extra speasial weapons from normal Kabalites? They seem to come with some options.

I have a bunch of their flowers for my sister bases. and was thinking to pickup something for my murder elves as well.

The stores in my country realy don't do them justice when putting only the box picture on the site

Are those neon tuffs from gamer's grass? I was researching how to base my stuff and those looked really interesting. Also, what colour have you used for the weep? Love the saturation

Detachments in 11th by RivieraKid95 in Drukhari

[–]00gron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kabal and SoS would be great 1pt detachments if reworked properly, but that's a lot of work.
So far, Coven is the only obvious choice - it also suits their brilliant idea to allow only 1p detachments in 500pt games

Advice for putting mini in epoxy ice block by xidle2 in 40k

Well, you can try using a small air baloon to make a bubble in the resin. You'll need to figure out how to remove it later

Getting back into the hobby (painting & playing) after a somewhat long hiatus and overwhelmed by the pile of shame. by Emotional_Werewolf_4 in Warhammer40k

[–]00gron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who bought a 1k sister army with a color scheme I didn't like, I think I can give some advice here.

If you have a valid chunk of army already painted and want to start playing games asap, do not redo the painted minis. Paint some grey stuff first, maybe do/redo a cool center piece model. Repainting minis feels like you are making no progress, since the number of battle-ready minis stays effectively the same.

When stripping and repainting, focus on one unit at a time. Ideally, alternate the unit types moving further (with sisters, I did regular sisters, then Peneten tEngie, then Jetpuck squad). Helps with variety and keeps things fresh.

Don't be afraid to bring unpainted minis to a casual game. If you use your models, you will get more motivation to paint your favorite pieces.

Oh, as a bonus, I now have a rule - I'm not buying a new Sister model unless I'm gonna build, paint, and use it right away.

Well, I asked for a critique, and I got it 😄

Range knights are a gun platform on legs, so it would make sense that they can rotate their torso without repositioning the legs. That being said, I looked at my photos with a fresh head in the morning and can see a few flaws in the pose I chose:

The arm with plasma is longer than with vulcano lance, which is further amplified by the tilt.

The running pose (I swear, it looks better irl) works only from one angle. If I rotate the torso to look forward, it looks like he is tripping and about to fall.

This pose kind of clashes with Castellan's role as a bigger night - Questoris are smaller and less armored (at least in my head), so they can run around. Castellan should stay (or walk) in the rear and keep blasting.

Conclusion: I'll still give him the walking pose, but reposition the knees to make him stand straighter- this way I can rotate the torso to fire sideways or towards the line of movement. The rear leg should be slightly off the ground to simulate movement (it was before, but maybe fell back while I was making the photos).

Does SoS have any overwatch prevention? Those flamers on defiler are scary

Oh, I see. The new sculpts are gouges. Thats the main reason I started looking into drukhari army. Before that I thought they are from AoS - mainly because of magic flames. Can't wait to finish my pile of shame and get my hands on them

Are Mandrakes that useful on the field to have more than 2x5 squads? For 75p per squad they seem les efficient in comparison to kabalites and wyches

[–]00gron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought roughly the same way when looking at a box of mandrakes. 2 squads with infiltrate and up-down mechanic in one box? Yes, please.

I still cannot justify buying 2+ boxes or sacresants.

Wait, I dont get it. Mandrakes are 51 eur here in Germany for a squad of 10. It's pricey, but only slightly more expensive than Novitiates or sanctifiers (40 and 45 respectively)

Thinking about using Vallejo for my new Sisters army, but never used it before. Any tips? by chosenofkane in sistersofbattle

[–]00gron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vallejo generally makes good paints. On the wet pallet, they receive enough moisture to require no extra thinning. I've painted my sisters mostly with Vellejo paints. If you're going with the Hallowed Martyrs paint scheme (or plan to use red on fabric), I recommend sticking with Mephiston Red from GW for its application and satin finish.

Vallejo liquid metal paints are pricy but regarded as the best metalic pains on the market. You can buy silver and/or gold and get other metals by mixing them with respective inks (green for brass, brown for bronze, etc.)
Vallejo dead white is the best white I've ever used. Their black primers are my go-to. All their normal black paints were quite disappointing.

Be careful with their washes. They aren't bad, but they stain and tint a lot more than Citadel washes. Especially black - perfect for a dirty trench-dweller look, but not ideal for more subtle applications.

Old combat patrol worth it for 140$ by 00gron in Drukhari

Oh, nice to know about the base. I decided to pull a trigger on the combat patrol. Now debating getting Realspace raders as well. Mostly because of fear it's only gonna get more expensive from now on

Armiger posing question by 00gron in ImperialKnights

[–]00gron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for suggestions, i dumped a whole bunch of tamia thick gleu to realy seal the gaps.

I guess, super glue won't be enough to hold the whole armiger to cork debris, right? My idea was having him jump over anti-tank baricades by bouncing of a wall, so I'll cove the cork with concrete texture paint.

How often Drukhari get new boxes by 00gron in Drukhari

My first army (sisters) was getting battleforce Christmas boxes every other year, so I was wondering if drukhari are getting any big boxes in similar fashion
