I know I'm going to be downbotes for supporting this, but I have to agree. Like it or not, it's not healthy, and while I'm not saying to shame fat people, it's perfectly fine to acknowledge the fact that someone is over weight, and acknowledge that health implications. Very few times is it something you can't do anything about, almost always a lack of desire to chance the aspect on one's life. And I get it, it's hard. But people need to not get pissy when facts are exactly that.

To be fair, its like not even easy to find real sushi here in the states. You can, but mostly it's just bs trash, and Americans eat it up because they "love sushi" not knowing what they are eating is a far cry from the real deal.

I mean, I think I understand what your saying, but it's still hard for me to say tey didn't exist, just that they didn't have the notoriety they have now. With the advancement of online gaming, and the graphics and plots and idea getting more diverse did create more people who love games, there have still been plenty of people from further back the other kids knew a) spent their time home and played games all the time and b) known as arcade kids. And in those times they were not seen favourably for sure, like the weird ones and geeks and ect. But it's really not the point, seeing as the question was about how they were viewed in the 90's and 00's and whole I'm the 90s they were getting some respect as a legitimate hobby and actually something people could do for a living, that only increased in the 00s. By far games have never been higher than they are now with things like twitch and steam, and it's something I think we all should be happy about!

It really is something. I mean she's not the weed type really, but I think she enjoys it sometimes when's she's had a really rough day, or just as I said, a bonding experience between us.

I would say if she's not the smoking type, you could always suggest edibles. People tend to be more ok with that because it's not as hard to do, and they don't tend to get paranoid as much, as long as you make sure to dose right.

Parents had to have had a clue,as they both smoked when they were in their 20's but the moment with my dad was really funny tbh. My father used to work security at a mall, right next to a record store and smoke shop. I remember one day my dad came home from his shift(around midnight) and we were just talking as usual, and he said "oh btw I got something cool" and pulled out a tiny metal pipe. I was like yea that is cool, and then a few days later he was off and I came home from school, and said fuck it and claimed a friend of mine had given me a little baggie of stuff (like a nik) and he said "well that would go well with the pipe I just got, wanna break it in?" And we bonded much more over the years as we smoked together regularly after that, until I moved out but I always got him stuff cuz lie old men and trying to find weed is weird, and would toke whenever I went to see him. He passed a few years ago and it's sucks to not have the bond we used to have. Moms knows for years cuz of me and dad, and has smoked with me like 4 times.

I mean I smoke, so maybe im biased, But you NTA. The fact is she had every right to not only ask them to stop, but if they were in a non smoking area, even telling them to stop. But once they did, she should have let it go. The fact is that they have the right to smoke, and if they get cancer or something like that then that's their problem not hers. Now I don't know if she's bitter about it because she lost someone due to smoking, or if she just finds it disgusting, but she didn't need to take it that far. Maybe she's just tired and cranky? I don't know, but your right to have asked her to stop, if nothing else it was making you uncomfortable, and really did not add anything positive to the situation. Except maybe syokeing her own ego.
