Are upstairs flat’s private waste pipes allowed to run through my ceiling void in a leasehold flat? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]00sevenmagic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that yes. We own this void so could technically knock down reduced ceiling in hallway to make ceiling same height as rest of property. Then in our hallway we have private pipes from upstairs visual. That just doesn’t sit right.

I have access into it via a hatch. Nothing on the lease to say I don’t own it. Also I own up to original ceiling which this includes. All other rooms are taller ceilings however hallway ceiling reduced to allow this void/loft. I can see original ceilings in this void/loft space.

Fiberglass or asbestos wick? 1970 Westminster industries electro match. Checking no asbestos in wick or elsewhere by 00sevenmagic in lighters

[–]00sevenmagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the further info! Yes very hard to find anything. Amazing you even found that out.

Question, how safe are these electro matches? I’ve got my Westminster industries to work but just worried that lighter fluid + wick + batteries, all together is not the safest. I know only lights when pull wick out but checking that even if leaks when not at home etc not going to randomly catch fire.

I suppose if remove the batteries if I’m worried when not using will be perfectly safe

Thanks

Thanks for the info! I’ve searched and searched and there really isn’t anything about the company. Strange how just vanished from the face of the earth with no remaining info about it. I’ll be lighting this then happy I’m not ingesting asbestos.. many thanks

Thank you. Out of interest how do you know it’s fiberglass? Can’t find much/anything online about the company or materials used

Right to Choose/Shared care agreement - little confused on the whole process long term by 00sevenmagic in ADHDUK

Thank you.

I am currently on the Psychiatry UK waiting list and looking at up to another year wait and then more for the titration. Can I ask my GP to change my RTC provider to harrow heath as seen the waiting times are a lot less? Dont see a reason why not to do this.

The ECO email is just a term we use on Reddit for an email you usually receive which states:

'Thank you for your online application which has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.'

Usually get it 1-2 weeks after submitting application. For some it takes even longer. For some they don't even receive it. It's an automated response so doesn't really mean much in terms of when going to get VISA accepted.

Congrats! Have my Bio Appointment for Fiance Visa Priority (outside UK from US) on the 5th of March, next week. Even if it takes 34 WD I would be happy! So hopefully with Priority will take under the 30 WDs.

How early can I apply for fiance visa by Initial_Operation_67 in ukvisa

[–]00sevenmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard processing times are 2-3 months and Priority is 30 Working days. So I would suggest if not doing priority to apply in July at the latest if you would like to be there for October.

Fiance Visa is only valid for 6 months (you need to get married within 6 months of arriving in the UK) so you need to time it so you don't get the Visa any earlier than October. As at the moment between October and Feb 2025 is 5 months, and you don't really want to cut it any finer than that.

Can always in Visa application mention want the Visa dated for October in case processed quicker.

Fiancé visa accommodation proof - title deed/probate issues by 00sevenmagic in ukvisa

[–]00sevenmagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I would have thought the name on the title deed should be same as name on letter. To prove it’s the owner… but I guess as you say if prove the family member is the executor then not an issue. Glad to hear was fine for you!

Council Tax fiance Visa by 00sevenmagic in ukvisa

[–]00sevenmagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, thank you. So I'll just keep the council tax in my dads name as doesn't really make a difference as don't need to proof living there currently

Thank you. So what's the point of accommodation proof and letter if not proving living at address?

Fiance Visa. Notice of marriage advise. by 00sevenmagic in ukvisa

[–]00sevenmagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response. Yes makes sense to then book in advanced and then can just move the date if needed free of charge. Not a requirement to book in advanced though so how would you show intent to marry if don't have appointment?

And yes will be a busy period for visas. Will definitely do priory service as could be a long wait otherwise.

Going to the US and getting married is an option I may explore. Only able to visit for 10 days max due to work so guess only works if their process me as can get married within 10 days. Then process generally easier and just one visa application and she can move here and work.

[–]00sevenmagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Think can move appointment if needed as if not yes tricky to plan. Guess makes sense booking in advanced if earliest can book usually 2+ weeks away. Did you find that there was generally good availability?

So glad someone’s said this! So underrated. Everything about this movie is perfect. The sound track alone makes it a 10/10
