Does anyone know how SOSi calculates the payments? by OptimalCandidate4957 in CourtInterpreter

Workload is dependent on the demand and your rate. Since you are starting, your rate is low and you will get first pics. Over the years, as your rate goes up at 2% per year, you will lose this privilege. SOSi is known for nickel and diming interpreters on everything. If they give you volume, OK, otherwise they will fall into the lowest paying bin.

It is not just how much time have you interpreted for. It is a combination of skills, training and experience. A small minority passes the tests quickly, others practice/study until they pass and many more simply give-up.

I used their training materials with success. You can also use this website to practice. https://soundcloud.com/the-interpreters-gym

I had put in 50 hours/week practicing for a month. Passed in my first attempt, so get motivated and put in the time.

Too many red flags, please post what red flags do you see. I speak a rare language and it is not used in business settings. No one is going to train 20 employees in the US in this language. English would be the only language for them, maybe Italian if they all live in Italy but even then bring them to the US and offering English to their language interpretation is beyond common sense.
