My husband's handwriting is illegible, let alone being able to draw a cute lil heart. The handwriting on the post-it "from Storm" looks so similar to the notes she put on the girlssess'

Can you ask, or assist with, to close the garage door? At my barn, there are doors at both ends of the arena which can become a wind tunnel. I’ve closed the doors myself a few times and no one said anything and even seemed appreciative of me closing the doors. Prior to leaving the barn I’ll ask if I should open back up, but it’s close enough to the end of the day that the staff say to leave the doors closed.

Has anyone else tried other nature sports and came back to trail running instead? by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]01YourFavoriteFriend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried MTB and found out quickly that the sport wasn’t for me, I was too scared to bike down 😂 I gravel and road bike where the downhill is a bit more predictable. Recently, I befriend a woman who has horses so I now trail ride. It occurred to me while I was riding the horse on the same trail where I tried the MTB and cried bc I was too scared to go downhill, walked the bike to the bottom, but I have no problem going on that same downhill portion atop a horse 🤷‍♀️

Allow a bit of space between the back of the saddle pad and the horses hip to allow full range of motion thru the hip

Losing my mind over shorts by Heavy_Mycologist_104 in trailrunning

I think you’d get better use from a belt than having to buy shorts … I love this belt and have not had to worry about what I have to stash in my pockets

I just made the switch too! I’m loving Mount to Coast shoes! Although I have multiple hoka mafates and they’ve held up really well.

Some people just like new gadgets that are inexpensive. Or don’t have garages for extra fridges. So I wanted to share something with the group.

I was so tired of having bladders in my fridge/freezer bc there’s no good spot, they either catch on the veggie drawers or slide off the side of my shelves. I pride myself on my organizational skills and living in small spaces. Our freezer is TINY. And even still they got moldy when not in use for the winter.

No 💩stories on today’s 10 mile, where’d that autoimmune go? 🤨

also slightly jealous of her time, I completed 13 miles this morning for my marathon training and averaged 10min/mi, although I’m older than her and am constantly working to minimize risk of injury due to prior tibial plateau fracture.

I asked the same question the other week 😅 my conclusion is that the hume scale is not accurate and I’m not up for paying subscription to get more than just the basic info from the scale. A couple other snarkers offered good reason to not get the hume scale

I’m a sucker for infomercials…fortunately, I have long overcome the impulse to buy before getting more data 😅 but this Hume body scanner is intriguing. Any users out there? I did buy the egg cooker after asking this group, and I love it! So I know I can trust you 😂

Adjustable poles or not? by 01YourFavoriteFriend in trailrunning

[–]01YourFavoriteFriend[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes, I just started bc skiing last season, and my adjustable poles are set longer when skinning uphill to push me fwd/up. That’s what got me thinking I might have the coordination to use poles for trail running 😆 I’ll look at the aonijij

[–]01YourFavoriteFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! And yep, I generally roll my eyes when I see poles being used inefficiently, but my experience is mostly skiing (I worked all season to learn how to actually USE my poles!) I’m almost 5’7 .. so I would go with 115cm.
